nice work on the jigsaw puzzle!

FYI, the vent in the bottom of the fuse is important - it allows an exit for cooling airflow over the motor.
If you don't have it, the motor will possibly overheat.
Don't know who the previous owner was, but I respectfully disagree with his opinion.

I reconstructed the motor box in my wattaplane slick. mine may have been just lil worse off than yours. mine had the crack going across the front where the motor mounts up, just like yours. I ended up using some flat CF to give extra reinforcement. I have about 100 flights on the repaired motor box.
