So, I bought this 43% Carden VW Edge late last year and have finally got around to working on it!!!

For those of you who don't know him, this plane was built in 2011 by Trevor Brum. He used lots of carbon fiber and lightening techniques in his build... Here's the built thread... it's DEFINITELY worth the time to look through:

http://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/show.../128834?page=7

The plane is in GREAT shape overall but needs some attention in a few areas. Here's the "to do" list as it stands today:

-Rewire for JR power safe RX and 11x
-Rewire wings for 2 extensions and matchboxes
-Clean up all wiring
-Install new servos in tail or rebuild 8911's
-Rewrap headers and install smoke nipples
-Install smoke pump
-Fix pipe tunnel mount and add silicone pipe dampeners/mounts
-Fix stripped LG bolts
-Fix cowl screws that are stripped
-Replace monokote pipe tunnel at the front where it's torn
-Straighten up tailwheel
-Re-plumb all fuel tank and smoke tank lines
-Install new batteries
-program and fly

Let the fun begin!

I got the headers cleaned up and re-wrapped! I also got the JR arms out of the Durant boxes and futaba arms on order.

I'm hoping to fly this thing next weekend!!!

I like 'em "BIG"!
I remember when Trevor flew this plane. Man he beat the snot outta it. (manner of speaking) I was so impressed on how well it flew. It will be fun to watch you give this girl a total refit and refresh. I'm in.

Yep... after watching video of it fly, I DREAMED to own this plane... but didn't actually think it'd ever happen. But it did!!!! :). So glad to have it!

More done this morning! Installed RX, rewired the wings with 2 extensions (Trevor was using xbus), finished header wraps, elevators/rudder and prepared to accept new servos, LG bolts repaired, tailwheel fixed/straightened.

I also ordered some odds and ends to finish the pipe tunnel repair and broken tune pipe mount.

Getting close!!! It'll probably be Tuesday before servo arms get here so I may jump on another project while I'm waiting on the mail to arrive.

The thing that impressed (and) shocked me the most is it's a freaking 40 center sized plane. I had to do a double take because I thought he was tossing around a 100cc'er.
