I’ve been tinkering with my 3” tailwheel design. Bringing the wheel closer to the pivot point to help with some geometry issues. It’s taking a lot of torque to move it, thus not responsive.
For me it’s been very challenging to modify a design at large like that. It would be way cleaner if I’d just start from scratch. Oh well! Learning all of this is intriguing to me and very satisfying. I’ll need to print it and see how it works.

Rotate the forks further forward and down. The ideal angle from the pivot shaft is 7 degrees.

Did not know about the magic 7 degrees. I may end up re drawing it again. The gray one I used initially worked great. Just needed a bigger tire.
Thanks

I am doing a USAF scheme on an old 1.5 m Timber for a friend Military Gray With D-Day Stripes. Weather here in the Black Hill took a turn for More Snow and to day 30 degrees and wind of 20 to 30 gust to 40 So I am spending the next few days trying to get a few more projects completed. Wings basically done drying now so I can put the D-Day Stripes on, then start on the Fuse later today. I traded my old 78" T-28 for a Carving of a Buffalo being attacked by a couple wolf's. need to check it all out and take it over to a friend in Newcastle Wyo.

One more small project done. I had to repaint the bottom of the Floats on my 1.5 m E-flite Air Tractor. The snow is just like sand paper, even when it like powder, worse when it has a crust on it LOL!!!

Yeah snow is hard on stuff on foam. Was always told to do a good layer of clear packing tape on the bottom of floats for that reason.

I had the Heavy Duty 3M clear packing tape on the Floats, but with all the touch and goes I had been doing the tape was Completely gone in the Center. Even on my UMX Turbo Timber it took the tape out. Looks like over this coming weekend we are going to get 3 to 5 inches of the White stuff maybe more. They already have winter storm warnings out for the Black Hills and the surrounding area. I Have just got in a new set of floats for my 2.1 Cessna 150 and a new set for my 1.5 Air-Tractor and I ordered some of the new Deluxe EZ-Kote water based Polyurethane and .05 fiber glass cloth to glass the new floats

Seems like after flying the new E-Flite 1.5 m Air-Tractor 402. I get home and add more scale Items to the plane LOL!!!. just got this in to add on top of the Canopy, just like on the Full scale 402, it plugs into the receiver. A rotating Beacon. Now back to making the Spray bars and nozzles for it.

I got in two more planes today an E-Flite Shoestring racer, and a Flight Line 2m B-24D/J Liberator assembled and programmed, now for the Decals. I should be able to get a lot done this week end weather man says we are going to get 5 to 8 maybe even a ft. of the white stuff and high winds and Blizzard conditions

I just couldn't wait to start on my new 50" Shoestring NMPRA Electric racer. I really like the looks of this old 40's Era pylon racer they advertise speeds of 115 or more with a 25 Electric. We will find out soon.
