    65" Vyper Discussion Thread

It is a balance thing. You'd need a very heavy setup to balance out the rudder servo in the tail. I used to run an 8s setup where a tail servo could work. That was 24s3300 mah Glacier, Hyperion HP-Z4035-299, Castle ICE 100. That still balanced with a pull-pull, with batteries against the wing...

    65" Vyper Discussion Thread

I use Gorilla on hinges. Some people prefer epoxy as it doesn't expand that much - less messy. Read the whole manual first. Think a step or two ahead, go slow and the build threads. You'll be ok. Vyper is easy to put together, even for a 3DHS kit.

    65" Vyper Discussion Thread

Let's update the thread... My 8s Vyper setup in pictures. MotrolFly DM4315-300, Castle ICE50, Xoar 17x8, 2x4s3300 mah Glacier. About 7.5 pounds, 1200 wt at settled voltage, 1400 max. Not a rocket, but plenty fast for me. I get 12 minute flights, too. If I were to do it again, I would perhaps...

    2014 Fly-Low-In Northeast 7/10 - 7/13

Pontus - is there a way to contact Tom? At the very least i'd like to compliment him on excellent work, and I'd like a picture or two in high resolution, too..

    >Just double checked and you can upload images up to 3mb's per image. Let's test that hypothesis... 780k, 1.6M worked, 2M and above does not work. Zach, good luck at King50.

    3DHS 70" Velox

About 8 minutes of aggressive flying on 8s3300mah on mine (measured after a test flight by 3DHS pilot and webmaster theKM a couple years ago). I'm not very aggressive, so my timer is set for 10 minutes, and I usually have about 30% left. 70" may be slightly less.

    3DHS 70" Velox

I don't do gas... probably on my last gas car, too :)

    3DHS 70" Velox

It's slightly heavier, from what I hear. Still 2kwt should be enough. I use 8s on all three of my 65-71" planes - that would be 3DHS Vyper, 68" Velox and 71" Slick - and love it.

    3DHS 70" Velox

My 68" Velox is 8s - I use two 4s3300 mah batteries. Hyperion ZS4025-16 (looks to be on sale at AllERC at the moment), Xoar 17x8, Castle ICE-75, about 2 kwt peak. A good 8s setup won't weight more than a 6s.

    2014 Fly-Low-In Northeast 7/10 - 7/13

Thanks for the compliment. I don't think 3rdcforums file uploader will let me post anything above 500k or so. The advanced file uploader seems to work now, btw. I guess I'll post a few more pictures and then it's free for all - the others are free to pick the pictures they like and post...

    2014 Fly-Low-In Northeast 7/10 - 7/13

Mike - don't tell me your work follows People's Republic of China media guidelines... I'll post a few more later tonight, but the full favourite set is 56 photos at something like 6mb each. Actually, it could be useful to provide access to high resolution pics here - or even the raw format...
