    72" Extra 330SC

It is a beast. I have had one on my 71 Slick for the past year. Amazing performance. Very rare to use more than 2/3 throttle.

FlyMike1, I just looked at the weather in Salt Lake City. God its hot there! I guess Missouri was like a winter day for you? Unusually cool in Ohio the last few days. Upper seventies! Going flying in the morning. Will probably be around 60 when I leave in the am! As a side note Rcbirk (my...

    72" Extra 330SC

Got the firewall shortened for my PTE36. Was not as hard as I imagined. I was able to cut off 1" of the firewall with my Dremel Multi Max. What an amazing tool. If you do not have one you need one. Cuts, sands and God knows what else it does. My engine ended up 1/8" too deep on the cowl. I...

    72" Extra 330SC

Would like to say I never hit the kill by accident but I did on the maiden of my 70" Slick some years ago. I was brutal to myself over that one! t was my first gas plane. Never had that happen with glow lol! They just quit on their own. Have done it since as well but usually catch it in time to...

    72" Extra 330SC

Did not know that the Hitecs were 1.5. I will have to check into those.

    72" Extra 330SC

I can't find the specs on the long Dubro high strength arms. Don't know how long they are.

    72" Extra 330SC

I don't mind the heavy plastic ones at all. Just have not seen any long enough.

    72" Extra 330SC

Changing out my glass reinforced servo arms. Anyone have a source of 1.5" Hitec arms threaded for m2 ?

    72" Extra 330SC

I have one of the original V1 Extras. I have an MLD28 in it and am changing it to a PTE36. Looks like I will have to move the firewall back to accommodate the length of the engine. I need 6 3/8" or so firewall to spinner backplate but only have 5 1/4" My original Slick 70" also has 5 1/4" but my...

RotorJockey, Thanks for a great event. It was worth the trip from Ohio. I was very impressed with your Club's Field but more impressed with the hospitality everyone showed. I had a great time and wanted to thank you and all involved for their hard work. I know how much work it takes for our...

Flymike1, I was there also. My name is Rex and I was the one with a Taranis. You had quite a bad time of it but were always positive. I was very impressed with your tenacity! Did you drive from Utah? How far is that?

Just got out the balancing jig. It was way tail heavy. Moved my 2 cell 2300 A123 forward to the motor box. About a foot. Now it is close to the forward balance point of 5 1/4 inch's from the leading edge at the root. I think it's been tail heavy for years! Bet it will fly better now! Probably...

Thought that too. The inverted test does not indicate a tail heavy condition. I have moved the cg forward to experiment. May have to try moving it some more. As it is now it does fall when flying inverted hands off as I would expect.

I have a 70" Slick, 71" Slick and 72" Extra. All gas. The Slicks do land much easier that the Extra. My 72 Extra seems to want to balloon up when on final. I have to force it down. What does your Extra do that makes it harder to land?
