I upgraded primarily due to the promotion they were running, that made my net cost about $125 after I sold my dx8 and included extra receivers (that I didn't need)
I'm really happy with the smooth gimbals, better programming options, and telemetry logging.

The telem is better than dx8 w tm1000

It saves the telemetry into a log on the SD card,
So you can review the stats from the whole flight, rather than just what you see when you look down.

The DX8 will do that too but you need 3rd party software to read the files.

I am trying to program a flap/elevator mix (with flaperons). I want to put it on a 3-position switch (I think H). I want to have normal, down flaps with elevator and up flaps with elevator. I have tried, but I cannot get the switch to differentiate the mix. Any suggestions?

First I would call Horizon. ghoffman basically had them program his 9503 for his Ultrastick.

For my Ultrasticks I used Glider mode, as all of these mixes are pre done. The only down side I have found in this mode is that I can't get a throttle to throttle mix to work.

When I programmed some spoileron on my Bigfoot I did something like you are describing as it is on a switch (H). I had to go about it a hokey way, so I would first see what the experts have to say.

DX-18 update came out today and they fixed the issue from the post above. Now I can do a switch to MOT mix so I can do a idle down!

250 model memory now just like the DX9 and it is super easy to arrange the models. They added a sub menu for managing your model memories. Only bad thing is I have to rebind all my models, which will take a while.

Is the rebind required?

I seem to have a 6 servo aileron wing type now. I didn't check before I updated so it may have been there before.

Yes rebinding is necessary.

Seems to me they have taken almost all of the QQ features and put them into the 18. The only things I have now different are the .5% mixes and some different airplane graphics for some models.
