I don't care what you say, that scheme is Awesome!!

And you've done a stellar job building it!! Thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
You are very welcome. I appreciate the loyalty and devotion in following along. I could not have gotten this far without the support of all the amazing input from all you out there.

She ain't got no pants on!! I thought this was supposed to be a family friendly site!?!?!? lol ;) Seriously though, wheel pants are highly technical aeronautic instruments, don't try to fly without them :D

It's looking great stang, can't wait to see all the paint work done!
LOL.... pants? PANTS? We don't need no stinking pants. LOL. Seriously though, I kept switching up my mind on the pants. The 3.5" wheels suggested for the build are in my opinion far too small for the plane. Hence the White Rose wheels. As I mounted them, I thought it would be a total shame to hide that "prettiness". LOL But there is a method to my madness. Less to paint=getting the plane done quicker=fly it sooner. AH HA! LOL....
I am so very excited to get the paint work done. I can't wait to have it all done for a final "Pre-maiden" photo shoot. But of course, we'll have to wait until like Aug. or Sept. when we thaw out. LOL

Thanks guys.....

Oh man it's gotta have pants! Would it help if I begged?:yesss:
OH FOR PETE'S SAKE....alright, alright...pants she'll get. But I will wait until after the maiden to put them on...deal? LOL

I got very curious this evening. Since my living room is occupied by a completely assembled two winged hooptie, I got to thinking, "Now would be a good time to get a fully assembled weight of the Pitts". Considering I have been trying very hard to build it strong, but doing all I can to keep the weight down...I have been concerned about AUW. I put her on the scales tonight and honestly was delightfully surprised.

However, Not everything was weighed as it is not quite 100% complete. Items not weighed were the 24x10 Falcon Prop, 5.7 oz., seven Hitec HS 7954SH servos, 2.4 oz. each=15.4 oz., flight packs, 4.9 oz. each= 9.8 oz., Wheel pants, I think they were like 6 oz. combined. And any additions I make to the cockpit. I figure including the pilot bust, another 10 oz., and lastly the flying wires on the tail surfaces....I figure that setup to be a couple of ounces. For a total all up weight of: 53.8 oz., plus 19 lbs, 14.6 oz. (23 lbs, 4.4 oz.) I think my calculations are fairly close.

So I was shooting for under 25 and hoping for somewhere around 22. Even though I missed the 22 pound mark by 1 pound and 4 oz., I am still pretty stoked. I won't let myself get ahead of myself though. As has been mentioned, I will promise to bring it in with a little gas pedal applied.

That is just beautiful nice to see a big di-plane built. Great job and I enjoyed following you through all decisions. Also it was nice and different from watching an ARF being assembled.
I have ordered the paint from West paint in California will how that works, did you order your paint from them.

Thanks so much... I appreciate your input and following along. I have to get my paint ordered. I haven't really been in too big of a hurry as there has been too many other things to get done. But it appears I need to get it ordered right? LOL

Earl,

I am not sure Rob saw or could read the real fine print on the purchase. it states " That the builder/owner or test pilot is allowed ONE Flight without wheel pants, any additional outdoor or public displays of the aircraft voids all sales and the aircraft is in default and will be repossessed by said manufacturer or any person who gets there first"

just saying!!
