Well, I got it down to 52% humidity in the shop at 83 degrees so I put a few extra drops of retarder in the dope and sprayed the black!

Now it has to sit for a few days before I can start masking on it.

On a side note, if you need a really cheap spray gun that really pounds paint. The Purple HVLP gun from Harbor Freight is pretty damn good. It's no Devilbiss, but it also doesn't cost $150

Some of the cheap spray guns work great. I have a cheaper HVLP at work made for spraying Spray Polyester primer which is VERY thick stuff. It sprays it better that the two $400+ Sata Poly guns that I've used before and I only spent $120 on it. In a world where a new color or clear gun for me is $800 or more $120 is cheap!

$800 for a spray gun is why I never got into painting cars (that and I'm no good at it). I'd be to afraid to put paint in the same room as a gun that expensive! :)

Even $150 is steep for me, as I usually only paint 1 or 2 things a year.

My little purple whiz was only $9.99 with a coupon lol

Well, I got a good start on masking the Krier this evening. Found out I didn't get enough black dope in a couple of spots and that halted me for the evening :(

But, I mixed up some black dope and got those spots filled in and of course the dope blushed errrrrgh... Lol. Really it wasn't a big deal as the spot was small and I was able to burn it in, so back to masking tomorrow.

It is a little nerve racking but I'm getting it. For being a relatively simple trim scheme there is a lot of masking!

And I thought I had it tough. Wow...you are a much braver soul than I. Oh but it will be breath taking when done I am sure.
