Started assembling my foamie Mig 21 last night. Definitely going to need to do some painting if I want to see it.
I need to get it wired tonight. There's plenty of it.:)
Silver plane brings back memory's of an P51 mustang from great planes it was painted silver. On its maiden flight I lost it several times but managed to get back on the ground in one piece. Longest flight I had that day. That evening it had big invasion strips on it and yellow leading edges on the wings. Did not lose it the next time I flew it.

Well it took a while but it is done the ViperST cowl is painted. That was long and difficult the clear coatis on but it has a funny haze, you really have to look at it to see it but I am done it is what it is. Now I have to finish the plane most likely for next spring. Mentally not ready to finish it and fly it.
The haze you can see in the first picture. Will let it dry for a week and see what a coat of wax will do. If @Jetpainter if you have any suggestions please let me know thanks.

I've seen the spray can clear do that. I think it's the propellant getting trapped because the clear dries too quick.

If EDF foamies weren't so hard on batteries and have such short flight time, I would have more than my 64mm Stinger!

My daughter was sent home sick today, so I had to leave work and be at home with her. She slept and watched movies all day, while I worked on my Ryan STA EP. Laundry list of stuff done:

Cut the hinge slots for elevator and rudder
Test fit the tail wheel assembly
Test fit landing gear wires
Glued on rudder fairings
Beveled front edges of elevator and rudder
Installed all the servos
Assembled the pushrods
Trial fit all the control horns
Installed the motor
Soldered the ends onto the ESC
Programmed the ESC
Installed the receiver
Hooked up the motor to the ESC
Did the initial cutting on wheel pants and cowling

This project is quickly getting ready for covering... thanks to a sick kid... at least she was feeling better by the time she went to bed.

Damn I'm hungry
I had forgotten you got to do a wee bit more on the assembly of a PAU but the construction seems very solid on this 30% Edge 540T.

Plane is hinged and I got the undercarriage made up and installed. Went over the DLE 60 and found the cylinder bolts loose on both cylinders. Cleaned it up a bit and getting ready to mount it. This plane came with a very nice CF tailwheel. Drilled and tapped for two 4-40 x 3/8" hex caps to secure the tiller arm to the rudder bottom.

I spent the day painting, and this evening finishing up my Freewing Mig 21 so I can maiden it tomorrow.

The paint is Latex house paint thinned with windshield washer fluid. It worked out pretty good for a first try. I still have some paint details to add, but it's good enough for now.
