Nothing accomplished in the shop tonight, but some parts are starting to show up to get my Hangar 9 120cc Extra 300X back in the air. The new wheel pants and 4.5" wheels came today, but I'm still waiting on the new custom landing gear, I'm hoping I'll get them next week. I need to fly this thing before the weather turns.

Wheel pants look good but on our grass field it would not last long. And I have tried but the grass wins every time, so nowadays I do not even make the effort to even install them anymore. So I buy fancy airman wheels to make up for the looks.

Damn I'm hungry
Had to check the tune for the weather is still like hot humid summer days after that blasted storm :very_angry:. I will probably have to tune again after this weekend for the "seasonal" weather is supposed to start rolling in. Need to get off my butt and just go fly it :sleepy:.

I fly off grass as well and this is the only airplane I've destroyed the wheel pants on. I should have known better than to leave their tiny stock wheels on. I always go to a bigger wheel, but this time I didn't. I also mount the pants a little higher when I can, and that's exactly what I'm going to do on the custom gear. This time of year the wheel pant killer at our field is pine cones.

Just a question the spark plug wire that runs between the 2 exhaust tubes what have you used to prevent it from burning. Usually I just split glow fuel tubing and wrap it around the plug wire.

A piece of 1/2" OD 3/8"ID x 1" silicon tubing wrapped in Teflon (holds it in place) over the supplied spiral wrap. In the photo you can see also how the silicon tube is used along with 1/2" plastic cable fastener's to manage the high voltage plug wire around and away from the muffler.

Thanks looks good and a nice install.

Thank you. I really can't get over how good the power is for this size engine. If I could compare I would say it "feels" very much like a YS 140L and weighs, almost to the gram, just as much as the YS with the ignition! Even better.....The YS loading was pretty much tapped out with a 17x8 APC and this thing is swinging a Falcon carbon 18x9!

Hover pull outs have good control authority but not ballistic. If you could find a 7 or 8 pounder then it would be ballistic!

I like 'em "BIG"!
No work in the workshop tonight. Just relaxing and opening packages. Almost like Christmas. But the "BIG" gift will be here Saturday. :brian-banana:
Till then, I will just play with the baby Yak. Still can't decide what to power her with. I am sure I will figure it out before Spring. Oiy.

I feel a little motivated tonight, so I'm going to see how much I can get done. 57 hours in since Monday and one day to go before a day off. Not going to stop me though. Everything that was still needed for the Edge repairs is finally here. Well, that is except for the second spinner I ordered. I had a choice between a Tru-Turn 4.5" by 5" tall spinner or a Pete's 4.5" by 6" carbon spinner. So I purchased both. The original was 6". When the Pete's arrives Monday, I'll get all of your opinions. For now, this is the new Falcon 29x9 and Tru-Turn.
