The Petes 4.5"x6" spinner arrived today. Very pretty and brand new as they come. So I test fit it to the Pilot Edge. I dunno guys...I still like the Tru-Turn better. What do all of you think? As a side note: the spinners are not bolted down tight. That is why they look as though they don't fit the spinner ring on the cowl. But it should give a general appearance idea right?
Which one? Petes? Tru-Turn?

This is the Tru-Turn

Hard to tell from the different angles. But I do love me some carbon fiber. Just make sure the carbon one spins true. I had a carbon one on my Extra MX and when I juiced up the motor, the spinner looked like a bent drill-bit.

I've always liked the longer spinners on an Edge, but like Mike said it's hard to tell from those angles.
Thanks gents. I do like CF too. But what I don't care too much for on the Pete's is that the diameter of the cone is not flush with the diameter of the back plate. It does have an aluminum back plate as expected with all the Pete's. I have never owned one of these before. But they sure are light....wow. Anyone ever hear of losing the side screws on the Pete's that holds the cone to the spinner back plate?

Personally I REALLY like that black anodized True Turn. Looks great on the plane and it spins TRUE. I have used similar spinners like the Pete's but not the first one spun true. The closest one that did was a Mejzlik I got from Daniel Holman. Never had problems throwing a screw but I did use blue lock-tight on them. And of course the spinner I got from Daniel got destroyed on a dead stick nose over :(. I think a True Turn would have come away with only scratches that could be buffed out.

Tru-Turn for sure. I have recently went to a Tru-Turn on my 330LX and won't be going back to CF any time soon. Just like the fact that the TT spins true and looks a lot better. BTW, mine is the black anodized also :)

Well I do prefer the T/T spinner it looks better. The back plate fits the spinner like it should the carbon spinner back plate does not fit properly and is not finished flush with the back plate. Second I have had carbon spinners with carbon back plates and will never buy another one bad news. I do have a carbon spinner from Falcon with a aluminum back plate with small screws around the base it works and the screws have never come lose but they are done with lock tight.
What I do like about the Falcon spinner is the price and does run true.

Oh all good points, one and all. Especially since my TT is like @thurmma . ;-)
Though the Pete's is pretty and does have an aluminum back plate, I just feel the spinner cone should fit better than it does on the back plate. I've been using a c.f. spinner and c.f. backplate on the 157cs for almost five years now with no problems. However did have issues with the c.f. back plate on the GP 176 EVO. I also have run the c.f. back plates on my smaller engines, i.e., 111, 106 and such with no issues. I think a lot of the performance of the c.f. back plates are very dependant on how cool the engine and front hub remain while running. If they (the c.f. back plates) get too hot, they degrade and that is where we run into problems. I think at this point the Tru-Turn will remain right where it is. Which means... the Edge is totally repaired and ready to wring her out this weekend. Hopefully we can have some warm southern hospitality with mother nature. :)

Thank you everyone for your input and opinions. It is greatly appreciated.

Throttle trim switch is failing on my taranis. Figure it's a good time to upgrade to the M9 Hall effects sensor gimbals and give it a fresh paint job as I never cared for the color that's on it. So the question is to go with make it stone or hammered metal look.
