Damn I'm hungry
Then there is this fat girl with a 90" span at 24.14 pounds dry with a DA50 and a tuned pipe. It's not a 3D plane, but you still need to land it.;) The last time out I got it a tad slow on landing and it dropped the right wing. Luckily I was only a few inches off the ground.

Hey now! Don't go calling that baby FAT:dancing-chicken:. Yea she be chunky but oh sooooo pretty. And obviously she cooks :).

Have to agree with you on that one 88 wingspan is very big for 50cc most 50cc planes that I have built over the years have all been between 80 and 82 inches. That is definitely a 60 to 70cc size plane. But even so you still have wing cube loading of 10.

Yea I calculated 32oz sq.in. WL. A bit away from that magical 24oz sq.in. but still acceptable for a larger 3D plane.
My first 50cc was a scratch built Godfrey Extra 300. Had a Brison 3.2 in it and a 82" WS. It weighed 18.5 pounds wet. And it was a sheeted foam wing with the fuse being built up and a foam turtle deck.

I like 'em "BIG"!
ALL this talk about size and weight brings me back to my true first giant scale plane. Many of you will remember Lanier from back in the day. I bought new their 102" Extra 300. And because I wasn't gasoline engine Savvy at the time, I chose to use a Moki 3.6 twin. Talk about glow tard! forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon.gif What really surprised me is the Moki flew that plane just fine. At 36 pounds, she was a big...big...."BIG" girl.

640cc Uber Pimp
Only two years back I was still flying sport planes and my last one was almost 19 lbs on a none air box YS120 and flew really well but then started to get interested in 3D and my hole world got turned upside down. Have to agree with all you gentleman sort flying and 3D is like night and day, the amount of HP required to do good 3D is just outrageous and if you not good at it you even need more to help you pull out of bad moves. But teaching an old bog new tricks is great fun and really enjoying it with all your help.

You had to put 10 lbs of fuel it to fly 10 minutes. Never owned one, yes that plane does bring back some memories, it was an impressive plane in it day.

You ain't even kidding. I think...if memory serves...(which is probably more than rusty at this point), it had a Dubro Plastic tank of unmentionable size. After 8-10 minutes in the air, she needed to come down for a drink....(gulp) of go-glow juice. Wow, how times have changed. I often think back about that plane. It really was a nice flying plane for its day. Course back then, if I could do an aileron roll or a loop, I was doing good. LOL.

I loved my Moki 2.10. One of the best glow engines ever.
