Damn I'm hungry
And they ran great on no or low nitro fuel. I restored a 1.80 and it would start with a simple back flip!

Have to say I still enjoy my glow engines but they must be no bigger than a 120 four stroke. Sold all my larger glow engines and they have all been replaced with gas engines and love them. I remember going to the field with two gallons of glow and an heavy and over weight painted Midwest cap with a big Moki and going the fuel with no problem and at the time thought it was great.

My first 50cc was a scratch built Godfrey Extra 300. Had a Brison 3.2 in it and a 82" WS. It weighed 18.5 pounds wet. And it was a sheeted foam wing with the fuse being built up and a foam turtle deck.
My flying buddy had an ACE Extra 230 that size with a Sach 3.2. Awesome flying airplane for the time. Sheeted foam wings, turtle deck, and a forest of wood in the fuselage, and we painted it, so it was plenty heavy. It would do the coolest Lomcovák that I've never been able to duplicate with any airplane since, and I could get it to do it every time. And we thought we had died and went to heaven with the Sach's 3.2 over the previous Quadra's.

I still have a kit and all the parts to duplicate it. Even the Sach's.

They do look good when painted don’t care what anyone says. By the way theSach 3.2 you mentioned I had one it did have a blue crankcase. The one I had had the mechanical advance on side hooked up to the throttle linkage. Good engine had some good times with it until it drilled into big irrigation pipe at the end of the runway.

The problem with the mechanical advance on the one in the Extra 230 was you needed to take it apart now and then and lube where it rode on the crank snout or it would stick.

Man how in the hell do you remember those things, yes I do remember now that you mentioned it. And I am never going to admit how long I chased that one around before I figured it out..
