Absolutely gorgeous weather this morning so my son and I made a trip to the field. It was a Pilot RC 100cc kind of day. He finally figured out the issue with his DLE 120 not running up to par as it should be. Seems that headers that were on it were cut even. Not to offset the difference in the cylinder arrangement. We bought the engine and exhaust on his Aeroworks Ultimate. He then swapped it over to the Pilot 330. We had no idea the previous owner did not cut the headers to proper length. Anyway, that set such an imbalance in the 120 that it just would not run right. So he put on the stock exhaust and gained about 400 rpm and so smooth it is like glass now. Needless to say, it is just "almost"...."allll…..mooooost" able to keep up with my 106cs running the same Falcon CF 29x9 prop. We did a couple of side by side take offs...his 330 and my Edge. Did some old fashioned down home side by side "Nascar" style racing hot laps in the sky. We slammed those sticks and had lots of fun together. Ah but all good things come to an end it seems. Both of our timers went off pretty much at the same time. So...we did the side by side landing thing too. LOL. A bunch of guys showed up later in the morning. One of our friends, David brought his new Freewing A-10. Dang, the improvement on foam has really come a long way. And that bird looks as "real" as the full scale. Deep fast banks.... and awesome flybys. All around an awesome day of flying.

Not worried about the little dog becoming a raptor's lunch?

This looks like the best flying weather so far this year. I think I'll take the Pilot Edge out for a spin.;)

By next weekend weather down here should be back on track and "seasonal" . I cant believe September was the hottest month this year for us on the Gulf Coast. Over 4 days of temps being 97 or better and humidity index in the triple digits. July and August only had 2 days combined and averaged 93 with heat indexes just under 100 degrees. May actually felt like June and June had the first heat index days in the triple digits. This has been one long bummer summer. Cough Cough Aheew :ugh:
