I can not comment as to the going's on of the Kolm business. A promise I gave. I can however express what I feel and my exact emotions at this time. I love this hobby. It is my deepest and most respected passion. This hobby and the brotherhood that shares in it is far beyond any other organization. I see it dwindling and dying off. A little each day. As a crow will sit on a carcass and pick...pick...pick at the once living flesh it eats upon, it will continue until nothing but dried and cleaned bones remain. It is so very sad when awesome quality products can not survive because the invent of cheaper gotta get a thrill right now toys have mutated our hobby to nothing more than kids ruining what we that built this hobby worked so hard to preserve. I am just venting fellas. But when you get your plans all aligned and your ducks in a row and you get so overwhelmed with excitement...then only to have the rug "YANKED" right out from under your feet... well, I couldn't have been gut punched and had it hurt more. Or even...

I hate warbirds with single cylinders sticking out more than I do control line. All that work to scale out a beautiful plane and you ruin it with a 50cc engine on a muffler.
Well we all can't afford to spend 10 grand building a Warbird, so if you want something of reasonable size with a reasonable price tag, you have two choices, electric with no sound, or a obnoxiously loud single with a stock muffler. While I can't personally bring myself to run a stock muffler on an aerobatic airplane be cause I can't stand the sound, I could do it in a warbird.

I just went onto the Kolm site in Europe and it all is good and you can order a 150 inline what am I missing. They have just developed a six cylinder engine.

Maybe you should get in touch with them just to make sure, then place the order. There is no telling what may be going on, maybe as simple a Gotz dealt with the partner that left. Valach went through a change of ownership a couple of years ago and it was real similar.

This is all great and wonderful information, but as unfortunate as it is, a statement "NEEDS" to be released. What seems to be evident is not necessarily the actual facts.

Ok, not being a butt head, but this is to much drama for me. They are either available or they are not, I guess we'll see in time what you end up with.

I agree. But a promise is a promise. That said, you are exactly one hundred percent correct. This is the email I received today from Vogelsang.

Hello Rob

Julian does service for me exclusively and he forwarded me your email. He is the gentleman I mentioned to you when we talked on the phone the other day.

I had a rough last two days in regards to my recovery, hence I apologize for the delays. I DID talk to “Kolm” today who in the future will go under the name Berger Engines or Berger Motors.

There are some exciting announcements to be made, one of them is that I WILL be able to get a factory new 150 for you, it seems.

As soon as I hear from Michael you will hear from me.

Thank you and best regards,

Dr. G
