Last night I glued all the plywood blocks in for the blind nuts. The rear most blind nut on each side is mounted inside the fuselage. The screw will go through the upper and lower cowl, then into the fuse. I used Hysol to glue the blocks in, I real like that stuff for ease of use.

Splitting the cowl is a slow process since every step has to cure overnight.

Well at least now it is a lot easier to mount the cowl and make things fit a lot better. Hope your friend appreciates what you have done.

The blind nuts are installed, when I go down there sometime today, I'll finally get to install it as see the finished split cowl.

I didn't do a careful neat glue job on the blind nuts. After having a blind nut on a hatch bolt on my scratch build Miss Moana that was not glued in spin in the wood, that ended in me using a hacksaw blade to cut the tab off the hatch, just so I could get the plane home, to hell with neat, just makes sure they stay in.;)

Besides, these are known to need a little nose weight.:lol2:

I finally got to install the finished cowl yesterday, I think it turned out pretty well.

The next step is to install the rudder post and hinges. Another project caused by the replacement fuselage. This job is going to suck, plain and simple.

Yes the cowl looks great, why is the rudder going to suck. I have never worked on a glass fuselage so I am interested in the process on how one is built properly, thanks.

Mainly because I have no idea what it's supposed to look like, and don't have so much as a picture. And the way I think everything should go doesn't fit together.
Ok am I missing something is this not a brand new plane that you are building and should it not come with all the instructions or is that foolish thinking on my part.
