Spektrum DX-20 Recall Info

I like 'em "BIG"!
So this is just my two cents worth sense I have never owned a DX** radio. I almost bought a friends 18 stealth. Missed it literally by minutes before another friend snagged it. Then I considered the new DX20. I am now glad I selected something else. I have not seen or heard, (until now) any problems with the 18 or the 20. But considering HH is pulling the big corporate b.s. game, it must be something really serious. No one likes to loose a plane. Especially to equipment that we are supposed to be able to trust. But to have a major supplier pull the this "Doesn't meet standard" line is really kind of un-nerving. I have lost a lot of faith and confidence in HH of late. I really hope they get this sorted out for you fellas that have the DX20. I hate hearing of a downed plane due to "Lost Signal". It just really bites.

How do I know if my radio is Gen 1 or 2?

For DX18, quick answer is perforated speaker grill on Gen 2 under the “DX18” logo.
Otherwise it’s model number as seen on the tag on the back of the radio.
SPM 18000 is Gen 1
SPM 18100 is Gen 2
SPM 18200 is Stealth
SPM 18800 is QQ

New to GSN!
I switched to Futaba last year, several of the guys I fly with use Spektrum and they have all lost planes to "loss of control". I don't care what brand I fly but from what I have seen at fly-in's and contests Futaba seems to be the most trouble free by far.
