Sounds like and interesting device. But it only works on the three big receivers with power safe, that does not make sense. Which port do you Plug the new device into the receiver.

Just to the right of the antennae exits on the right side. It's a 5 pin micro JST connection. The USB programmer cable has a traditional 3 pin "servo connector" that plugs in to the Rx's bind port. This is only needed for software/firmware updates on telemetry Rx's or AS3X Rx's. Now the question I'm wanting answered is.....Can you update the small AS3X Rx's you find in a lot of the "bind 'n' fly" foam planes so the Altitude/G-force/rate of climb functions work with them as well ? Once I find a definitive answer I will post it up.

Well I can say the woodwork is done. Just have to wait for the rudders to dry then I have to come up with a new colour scheme. Or just grab what I have and make the best of it. It will not be the first time, have no colour senses .
As long as the plane is built right and is square and everything works correctly and it is light. Almost forgot when the rudders are dried still have to do the small fillets on the motor box and rudders.

It must be possible they would not develop that unit jus For for a couple of receivers. Jus doesn’t makes sense.

Actually it makes sense in the sense that they already have a HUGE line of gyro enabled receivers, whereas the PS receivers are traditionally not equipped with such. They made it an optional plug in unit because it makes it simple to upgrade your existing PS receiver to a gyro enabled receiver, and it also prevents them from having to develop a new PS receiver with integral gyro- this is a critical point because gyro equipped receivers are strictly forbidden in competitive use on any level. This gives the user the option.

So here is the answer to my question....NO :(. But :)….The AR636A Rx that came installed in my Timber did have a firmware update enabling flight log and SAFE select operation. And yes you can also plug in one additional DSMX remote for redundancy. You can also reprogram/change settings or load other models in to the Rx via the USB programmer cable and program APP (also available for down load). A complete list (zip-file) of all model types offered using AS3X technology is available for download. Summing it all up this system is similar to the Aura Configuration Tool and Aura 8 but a bit simpler to understand and allowing all the functionality of your transmitter....

Got all the fillets done and did a final check with bright light looking for dents and scratches. Fixed everything and now just waiting for the fillets cure. Then the covering starts.
QUESTION I have read or heard that if you paint the plane with nitrate dope first the covering sticks better and you get less edge lifting is this true, if anyone has done this or know something please let me know.

Yes I have used dope. It does help keep covering down. Apply just a couple of light coats. Balsa Right conditioner works equally well.

Not to take away from the great tips here at GSN, but I do follow a builder whose blog might contain some relevant info for you.
