GP 76 twin gas engine

So I thought I would take a minute to toss out there the information that I got yesterday on the GP76. I finally was able to talk to my friend who is an actual GP dealer. He is asking everyone to "NOT" believe all you may hear or have been told. Yes, some of what has been "leaked" is true. Yes, there is a GP76 coming. Yes, the information I had posted earlier is accurate. (I try very hard to be accurate) However, if anyone says that there is a specific release date, there is not. Also, as it stands...no one really knows for certain what mounting pattern the engine will be. It is evident however to clearly see from the photo of the 76 below the 123 that it will definitely be a four bolt pattern. And knowing the Chinese, they will keep it the same as all our other 50-60-70cc engines. That we will have to wait and see. It is also true of the power output that is initially being reported. Apparently it is literally destroying...(to coin a phrase) all normal 60-70cc props. Hence the reason the 25x8's and 25x10's were ordered up from Falcon. I informed my friend to please keep me updated as I am putting my name on one when they are released. Who knows, if they really are as good as initial findings have proved, I may get another for the Jtec Pitts. If it won't fit? Well, to lose some nose weight and to add some "3Dub" power at an economy price would be enough for me to put some little bumps on the sides of the cowl to accommodate the install.

I'll try to keep you all updated as information comes available. Oh and I just learned today...Did anyone know that GP has done a complete remake of the GP176? I sure didn't. Wow...I must have my head stuck in the sand again. The new revision is a 178 and totally redesigned. Hmmm.... What do you know about that?
This engine sounds very interesting. Keep us informed looks like something new on the block that got some real horsepower. The only thing is how easy is it to get headers for or mufflers. I have a O.S. GT33 great engine runs very well but unless you use the original exhaust you are out of luck.

This I do not know and like my friend, very reluctant to imply or suggest when the details revolving around the engine are so sparse. Again i would assume GP will try to stay industry standard. They used the same exhaust flange configuration on the 176 as DA did the 170. Will they adapt the 76 to fit DA 70? Or maybe RCGF 70? Not even going to speculate. Guess we will find out when the 76 is in actual full release mode.

Just got word from the GP Engines Official Owners Page on Facebook that the GP-76 is finalized and will be available July 2019. They are also working on the GP-38 which is still in testing!!!

I still think the GP-76cc would be a match made in heaven for the Extreme Flight 94" MXS and retrospectively the GP-38cc perfect for the 76" MXS as they are both a little heaver, and that extra power would make them come to life a bit more from what I hear. Hard not to like that heavy metal scheme either

Hope you have not forgotten about the 112CS four cylinder???????????
Oh heck no!!! That is a definite for next year. At least that is my thoughts right now. I can't say whether I will procure a new airframe or swap out one of my redheads from an existing airframe....

Uh..no...that won't happen. Swap out a Dub for a GP? I don't think so.
