It is interesting that you do not sheet from the leading edge to the main spar. So as it is you must be ok with the stiffness of the wing.

Yeah there is plenty of strength there. Sheeting to the main would just add extra weight. The original prototype only had sheer webs in the first two bays of the wing and never had a problem. Since I didn't do carbon two in the spar on this one I decided to do them all the way out.

Not a lot of progress this morning. Sold my last dle 55 to a club member and needed to get it off the plane it was on so he could get it tomorrow.
First up and not pictured but go ahead and trim the extra length of spar and stuff hanging past the wing tips to length. Also go ahead and trim the building tabs off the bottom of all the ribs and sand smooth.

while the wing is now flipped over go ahead and in each servo pocket go around the joints with a bead of medium CA and then put some micro beads on it to make a nice strong fillet.

Cut the sheeting free in the motor mount slot all the way back to the main spar.

The motor mount should be a nice snug fit.

Finally go ahead and install the sub spars on the bottom of the wing.

Fair bit of progress this morning. Got the le sheeting on, Center section, and one piece of TE sheeting. Same as the top basically but you can see how I let the Center section hang off the back and the TE just butts up to it. A lot quicker and easier this way. Should have the airframe finished tomorrow and ready to start prepping for covering.

It’s possible but probably not. I have electronics from my original one here I could use but have much nicer stuff headed this way for it and would rather use it. This includes servos that I believe are slightly smaller so I won’t be able to cover the wing or fuse until I have those and make sure they fit properly.

Ok I get you have put in tow sub spares to replace the sheeting from the leading to the main spar. That will keep light.
Please show lots pictures of how the fuselage and the wing go together very interested to understand how that is done.

No on to the LE. As you can see the sheeting overhangs a little bit which is what I intended. We need to get it down flush with the ribs.

My method was to grab my small hand plane and go to town on it. Five or six passes had it really close. Then I switched to my sanding block to finish it up.

Now we can install the LE. If you look it is a cut part on the 3/8” sheet that had all the fuse pieces on it. You may have noticed in the other pictures that my LE sheeting was not straight where it made the curve. Next time I think I will soak them water and wrap around a tube overnight. Because of this I have only glued the LE stick to the ribs. Tomorrow I will come back with a straight edge to press the sheeting down evenly and hit it with some thin ca from the back side.

That’s all for now. Off to class then work.

Servo arm. Nice factory aluminum ones as well. I wish they where 1” arms though. They are only 3/4” but should do the job just fine.

nice pretty kst servos. A couple of my dlgs have kst brand servos in them and I’m really happy with them. I have heard reports that these are not near as fast as the specs say but the center awesome and have good torque. I really could care less about them being super fast anyways.

Motor and esc are used but will be an awesome combo.
