Discussion My friend and yours...

I don't know if any of you other fellas happened to notice, but silently and methodically a great friend of mine and yours has popped back in on us. I am speaking of none other than @thurmma Mark has been a bit absent for a few months. Lots of things in life have kept him busy. But like all of us that know where the heart is, He is back home among us.
Missed you Mark. Glad you got a new ride and getting ready for the upcoming season.

On a much sadder note: A really great friend of mine (Sam Noe) lost his lovely wife Maggie recently. Cancer is such an ugly beast. Some of you may know him and that sweet Angel. Some may not have yet had the true pleasure of knowing them. Either way, I would like to ask all of you that know Sam, to take a moment to reach out to him and offer him some heartfelt support. It is not easy when we lose someone close to us. But to lose our lifelong best friend, confidant and all around partner in crime...well that cuts really deep. He doesn't frequent us here on GSN. But many of you may have him in your friends list on FB. Take a moment to honor Miss Maggie and give your best regards to Sam. And take a moment to honor your own sweet Angel, (if you are so fortunate to have one). Life is short my friends. Way too short!!!

Hey Rob,
It really was good seeing Mark pop back in the other day. @thurmma, so good to see you back Buddy. . . . . :yesss:.

You are so right about cancer. I didn't know Sam, but I will certainly keep him and his late wife in my prayers. I lost my father and sister both to cancer, so I kinda know what Sam has been and is going through.. . . . :(

Ugly illness for sure. But when they leave us, they truly are in a better place. God rest their souls!

Thank you Rob! It has been one hell of a year, to say the least. Hopefully things will settle down this year and I will be able to frequent the site AND more IMAC contests more this year :)

I left my full time job and was pulling RV's from the factories to dealers. $1.37/mile sounds great until you have to deadhead all the way back to get another load! The middle of August I got my Class A w/o airbrakes and started hauling cargo on a 40' gooseneck. Much better money, when you can get the loads. Things were going full tilt until the new year hit. Then between weather and the shutdown, my loads have dwindled a LOT. Hoping things start picking up soon, or I may have to go back to a full time job, that would suck. After getting a taste of not sitting in an office all day, it would be hard to do it again.

So sorry to hear about your friends wife. My wife lost her mother and sister to cancer and my sister lost her husband a few years back to cancer. It is an ugly disease that I believe could be cured if the big pharma companies weren't so worried about the almighty dollar going away with a true cure.
