The streamline stainless tube arrived from Toni Clark. These along with the great photos posted by Bartman on Champ Citabrias, Decathlon forum are going to make some nice struts.

That looks like some nice stuff. I have been looking at JTec Taylor craft for a number of years but never bought one because you have source everything and one thing that really held me back was wing struts. Be very interested to see you turn them into wing struts, it will get me one step closer to getting a Taylor craft.

Took the Champ to the club meeting last night, had the gear and wheels on, engine, cowl and prop installed but forgot to take a photo of it. Started installing the rear stringers. I did not cut the slots for the stringers before hand, this way the slots can be laid out in straight line, when I pre-cut the slots I always end up filing them larger due to wavy stringers. Starting to look more like a fuselage.

Building Big

New to GSN!
Hi Tony.
Been looking at your build. Looks awesome. Great job. Who's plans are you working from. Just found out. Did the Google search. It's the John Marquette 1/3 scale Champ. I already have these plans ready to build one day. You just sparked my interest to get at it.

Got the rear stringers complete along with the 1/32" plywood roof section. Made a jig from scrap wood to hold the dash at 19 degrees, the dash is clamped straight with a 3/4" aluminum angle, once the glue dries will install the remaining 3/8" stringer that connects the dash to the firewall.

The Cub Hub arrived today however the adapter is drilled for a DA 100, TruTurn had little information on the Roto 85 engine, tomorrow I will send back the adapter along with the prop washer off the engine to get the correct adapter made.

Yes I am quite happy the way they turned out. Decided to put the wings on tonight after the family left from Wednesday Hallo Family Fun Night, made 1 1/4" thick center cut bone in pork chops on the grille, brined for 5 hours before hand, baked potatoes and green beans, salad, and Miller Lites of course.
The stringers just flow right in from the wing to the tail. I'm really liking this build. Next up, build the horizontal stabilizer and make it fit in the hole between the upper longerons and rudder post. Already modified the bending jig to bend 1/2" diameter OD aluminum tube for the stabilizer joiners. Had to put a radius on the hand wheel OD to prevent the tube from collapsing. The steel tube didn't care, the aluninum tube collapsed on first try.
The three view shows -3 degrees incidence on the stab while my measurements on the drawing of the model show about -1 degree, any thoughts out there?
