Thanks for that very interesting, looking at the aileron is it an optical elision or is the aileron taper to the wing tip. It also larger at the tip than it is at the root if so that is opposite to what we are doing, wonder why, and should we do it or at least try and see what happens.

The SC has had that reverse taper since it first came out. More leverage the further you get from the fulcrum (fuselage).
Yes I get that part but when the ailerons start to get over a certain size relative to the cord the wing tip will start to stall very early relative to the rest of the wing.

A few more photos from today. First was a photo session with IAC. Then Doug Vayda and Walter Extra presented a history of Extra Aircraft and development of the NG in the IAC pavilion. Really special occasion!!

The attendees were treated to a limited edition print of the new Extra NG signed by Walter and Mirco. So you can guess the new edition to the Hanging in the Hangar thread http://giantscalenews.com/threads/hangin’-in-the-hangar.10866/page-7#post-228515

Defender of the Noob!
I was fortunate to spend the day at AirVenture with Mirco Pecorari, Walter Extra, and the teams from Extra Aircraft and Southeast Aero.
Was a lot of fun to watch the unveiling and observe the first impressions of the airplane. A few photos here...

I am so jealous Wade!!! Next year I'm there, that's it! No compromises anymore. :(

HEY!..GET OUTTA MY TREE!
is the full scale acro world done with the blunt leading edges? or is that new plane supposed to be dual purpose acro and cross-country??
Not sure Bart....the NG leading edge looks not quite as blunt as the 330SC.....maybe??? I've been away from full scale aerobatics too long to know the answer

Not sure gents. I can’t find any info on the NG’s airfoil or the 330SC for that matter.
I can tell you that the 330SC uses an MA 14.9 S at the root and an MA 12 S at the tip. However, the googler didn’t provide me with any details on either of these.

Comparisons which I could find are below.
Wingspan:
330SC is 7.5 m (24.6 ft)
330LX is 8.0 m (26.3 ft)
330LT is 8.0 m (26.3 ft)
NG is 8.3 m (27.2 ft)

Wing area:
330SC is 9.8 m2 (105.6 sq.ft.),
330LX is 10.7 m2 (115.4 sq.ft.)
330LT is 10.84 m2 (116.7 sq.ft.)
NG is 10.94 m2 (117.3 sq.ft.)
Empty Weight:
330SC is 585 kg (1,291 lbs)
330LX is 645 kg (1,422 lbs)
330LT is 677 kg (1,493 lbs)
NG is 635 kg (1,400 lbs)

MTOW Acro Category (+10g/-10g):
330SC is 780 kg (1,720 lbs)
330LX is 820 kg (1,808 lbs)
330LT is 820 kg (1,808 lbs)
NG is 820 kg (1,808 lbs)
