Best Blades?

Hi All,

Some of you have professional experience in paint shops and I know that dull blades won't cut it  in a pro shop! What brand of single edge razor blades would be considered pro quality? What about replacement x-acto #11 blades?

The ones that Lowe's sells are garbage, by the way.

Thanks!
Bart

and while we're talking x-acto blades, the original aluminum handles never seem to stay tight. suggestions? what's a better handle?
thanks!

I have about 1000 #11 in stock, I did buy some of the scalpel blades for a trail and really don't remember the outcome, I didn't like the individual rapped packets. I do like the No 5 and No 6 handles, don't roll off the bench.

I have found the Excel #11 blades to hold an edge and be sharper from the start than any other #11 blade out there. I also do use the scalpel blades and handle, the scalpel blades do break easily . Excel also make some nice rubber coated handles with hexes on the bottom edge so they will not roll off your bench.

At one hundred for ten bucks I'm not going to waste the time to re sharpen, but that's just me.
