You are correct in about month I will need to get my winter plane ready to fly. The only thing is last winter all ready but we never got the opportunity to do some winter flying. Not enough snow and it was really cold but very windy all winter. Winter flying is great but all the conditions need to be right which does not happen often. Cold, clear, very little to no wind
Sounds like a whole bunch of useless excuses. But hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Here it is in the low 80's with very little wind, time to get a flight or two in on the little Extra 300.

25 mph is pretty standard for around my area 40 is definitely getting a little challenging. 50 not a chance tried it once spent the next week fixing an aeroplane.

As of a few days ago were already at our FIFTH WETTEST Summer on record since the records began recording in the late 1930's... let that sink in a bit. And while that's sinking in - think we still have a month left of summer... and while that is blowing your mind we've received 43" of rain since Jan 1st... This is 20" of rain more than last year SO FAR. Animals have started to show up in pairs here... Anyone have plans for an ARK????? But really fellas, the flying weather has been terrible this year.

I feel your pain. Here in mid Missouri we hit 40” of rain for the year about 2 weeks ago. We normally get 40” per year.

It's been just a constant rain all summer long here, quite a few downpours but it doesn't blow through like it does other places. The mountains are cloud magnets here and lets them linger. I don't mind the rain too much, but this year is pretty epic. Lucky to have a hobby that is just as fun in the workshop as it is out flying.

I think we avg 75" per year in N Georgia. We will SMASH that total this year. Heck, we've had 75" this week.

Shut the front door! I think you all get it in short MASSIVE dumps. Ours tends to be constant light rain with some intensity here and there. People are leaving here because of the lack of days without rain this summer.
Annual average climate data suggests you get 221 days of sun, Mike gets 192 days of sun, and I get a whopping 88... how sad. I basically wear a snorkel with flippers everywhere I go LOL
