    Welcome!

Hi there from Smithfield Kentucky

Jay Burkart

New to GSN!
Hi there from a novice Scale builder and SAM flyer. I've been modeling for 55 years and have been active in SAM contest flying for about 25 years. Decided I'd get into a serious Scale build, I have scratch built many SAM Old timers that are on the large side up to about 14 ft. and even many smaller Old Timers for SAM.
I am right now getting well into an electric powered 1/4 Scale Fairchild 24 and working on the cabin.
Finding out how hard it is to get real detail of the interior and measurements for scaling.
Sure hope I can be a good contributing member of the board.
I have an expertise in electric power as I used to be the tech-support guy for the OLD Hobby Lobby back about 10 years ago before it went down-hill. :(
Thanks
Jay Burkart

Welcome Jay,

Looking forward to your Fairchild 24 build. Scale model of a Warner or Ranger powered version?

I’ll see if I can find any photos of one which was in the hangar at the airport where I lived as a youngster.

This is a very special place with an amazing group of people. I’m sure you will fit right in.

Wade,
I'm building the Fairchild 24 R with the Ranger engine. I've got the fuselage all framed and have to complete the
interior now. I'm hoping one of the F24 owners I've contacted will come through and give me a hand with some
measurements. For example what is the diameter and length of the joystick and how far down is that dog-leg bend in it.
Sure can't get that from any 3-view, as a matter of fact I haven't found a good scaled 3-view that I can print off at all.
Thanks again,
Jay
