I have seen many accidents like yours. I wish we could never have this type of thing happen to any body but it does. I do not wish to offend any body, accidents happen all the time and will continue to happen. Complacency will always plague us all. I practice all the safety rules I can, I never have any body help me start any of my planes and have always started my planes as you have seen in my video. I have forgot to lower my throttle after priming my gassers when starting but I will never start one standing or sitting in front of them. even if I have to use a restraint required at some club fields. I will still start it from behind. I have been flying for over 45 years and have never cut myself yet, and I hope I never will. The worse gasser and one of the most dangerous is the OS Engines, they like to back fire and many have had their finger cut and broken when they do. They are a great running engine but a lot more cation is needed when starting one

I went out this morning with my Air Tractor on floats. We just got another 8" to 12" of new snow here in Rapid City SD. A little on the cold side though 15 degrees and overcast made three flights did many touch and go's in the snow wind 10 to 15 but was able to use the wind to my advantage no one else showed up. when I took off for the field we fly at I forgot my phone and go pro camera. Have to get some more video of this plane in a few days The weather is not going to warm up above 35 so I hope the winds stay down. tomorrow they say winds are going to be around 20 to 30 mph and cold tonight temps are going to be single digits.

My first time at the field. It was great, nice to have a few flights not much wind and not to cold but it was overcast. Didn’t matter I was in the air for three full 15 minutes flights.
Note about engines all I can say I have two stroke engines from 22 to 150cc DA and 3W but none of them beat a good running four stroke engine for sound power and throttle response.

Flew the Alula flying wing glider in an open field. I can see how this can be addictive. Now I just need a slope and some wind.
Managed to run the dog and stroll the baby at the same time. Rode two small lift bubbles one circle. Not bad for a little foam wing

Finally had a nice Spring day no rain or wind. So I loaded up my new E-flite A-10 Twin 64 mm EDF, and put the first two flights on it. had no one else with me, so I did not get any video. There are only two items I need to adjust the steering, plane pulls to the right, and I need to give it a little up elevator. 4 minute flights were just about right, bringing the 6 cell MRC 3300's downt to 34% and 3.79 per cell

My local soaring guru called me up and said to meet him with the Alula at the hatchery where the winds were about perfect. I never had so much fun sloping. Little wind moving up the hot rocks from the cold ocean provides a little bit of lift. This is a chuck I did, later the winds picked up and could gently overhead launch it into the wind, stay above the rocks on the right and do some passes for almost 4 minutes! Love the power of nature, so relaxing! Even had a seagull be my wingman for a bit!

I did get time to go back out and had a friend of mine get a video of the third flight with the armament on the A-10. The added drag of the armament does slow it down considerably. With full flap and armament landing was quite different and does drop in at a steeper angle and slows it down much more then 1/2 flap and no armament.

All work at the field today. Runway was extended last year, so working on extending irrigation right now. Too windy to fly anyway.
