I received my moustache beaver 2 weeks ago... first kit in a loooong time.. my results probably will pale next to yours... but will try...
Regards,
Patrick

It's going to be a beautiful model. Just take note of the places that I've struggled and you'll be fine. This is what's so great about forums - learning from each other. Happy to help any what I can!!

Try out DAG’s website. He has free STL files for the 985

http://atwoodaviation.net/dags-impossibly-free-3d-engine-designs-stls/

I'll have to download it and see how complex his designs are. I just recently started following him on FB, man he has a lot to share!

edit: just did. His design is 3D so it's more of a static design 360 degree. But may still work.

Very cool!

I have two Williams Bros. kits - 1/5 scale and 1/4 scale - if you’re interested in either one.

Very Cool! I think this is 1/6.3 scale, so may not work. I have a Grumman Goose kit to build and may just try this STL Dag has out.

Found a few good photos of the R-985 on the web, so a printed graphic could be an option. The last one is from SketchUp, so you could rotate the 3D model into the perfect head-on position.

Great question. Unfortunately I’ve only printed on photo paper for electrics, but I’ll do a bit of research on this one.

I’m more worried about water damage. I wonder if it can be printed on plastic sign material. Aluminum prints may also be an idea. I think they are clear coated. I like the plastic idea though
