Anyone buy the xcub tailwheel? Is it any more substantial than the stock one?

I changed my main gear to the xcub sprung and so glad I did. I just bought the 6.25 Airtop wheels (In fact I accidentally bought two sets if anyone ones one let me know). The 6.25 come with 6mm bearings, but I bought a set of 8mm bearings for them. The stock Xcub axles are slightly larger than 8mm, so now I'm trying to find a machine shop who can make them fit.

What do need to be done with bushings and or axles let me know because I am looking at a set 6.25 airtop wheels. Maybe we can help one another

I just need the stock Xcub axles machined to fit the 8mm bearings I have for the Airtops..the axles are slightly larger than 8mm.
There are a few machine shops near me, so I'll see if they can do it. I can sell you my extra Airtops, but frankly, by the time I discount them and pay for shipping -- you wouldn't save anyting over buying them from Esprit as long as your order there qualifies for free shipping.

The stock 6.25 Airtop has a 6mm bearing. To use the 6.25 Airtops and be closest to the xcub axles, you will need to buy some 8mm bearings. I bought them on Amazon, and they fit the Airtops perfectly.

How have I not heard of these tires?... Are they soft rubber like Dubros or a harder plastic material like the Kavans Sig sold?

The are soft and spongy! The stock tires are crap...hard as a rock. Very hard to not bounce your landings with them, and the hubs to my stock tires failed on day one....along with the stock landing gear.

Do you know the outer diameter of those bearings? (where they fit into the plastic wheel)

Let me review some of the wheel/tire options again:

8.75" PR Bushwheels - $125/pair - 1.2lbs/550g each - Unavailable Currently
8"/200mm AirTop -$90/pair - 1.23lbs/560g each - TopModel or Espirit -
10.3"/262mm PMT - $155/pair - 0.97lbs/440g each - PMT Premium Modell Technik (Germany)
7.75"/197mm PMT - $140/pair - 0.5lbs/225g each - PMT Premium Modell Technik (Germany)

I'd love to slap some 10" tires on... They are much bigger, 1/2lb lighter than the competitions 8-8.75" tires. It would give over an inch more of ground clearance. Price I posted reflects the removal of the 19% tax, and the conversion from Euro's to USD. They say international shipping is unavailable at the moment... maybe one could convince them. One of my favorite hobby stores has been attempting to get them to make him a US distributor.... I hope so! So honestly the only option right now is AirTops....
