The gear was just under 3 oz. you are correct most of it is the wheels.
One thing it was very difficult to bend the aluminum glad it was not 1/4 inch thick I do not believe I would have been able to bend it.
6061-T6 is incredibly strong material. The heat treating that makes it good for spring gear, makes it a pain to bend!

Ok new gear and new wheels are on and had to rebalance the plane moved the batteries 2 and 3/4 of an inch to the rear. Balance is at about 5 1/4 or a little less but pretty close to that. Looks a lot different the little that I raised it, makes the plane just look a lot different.
Be glad to get out to the field and not have to straighten the gear out every fourth or fifth landing.

My timber wing has been repaired for quite some time now... Been waiting to get some time and install the LE devices, but too many other irons in the fire at the moment. Speaking of irons, that 110" wing takes a long time to iron the wrinkles out!!! Lots of real-estate to work with.

Be very interesting to see how you like the LE devices. Looked at them a couple of times but never convinced my self to install them. Have not read of anyone that has installed them.

I have heard of a couple guys putting them on. They notice a slight decrease in roll rate, lift increase, and softer wing stall. I'm not doing rolling circles with mine, so it seems logical to put them on. Under the right conditions it drops a wing pretty easy I've found - with an AFT CG it gets better, but it's still there if you induce a high alpha stall. SO On they will go. It's too bad they are not easily removable. Ali decided to design a permanent attachment to keep the weight/cost down.

I agree they do stall and when they do and unexpected at times and it needs a little time to recover. I thought it was just me.

I have them installed on mine and I LOVE the way it flies! I can literally bring my plane in slower than my TBM and just plop her down on the gear and with the bungee gear mod to the Xcub gear, it looks exactly like a full scale STOL/Bush plane coming in for a VERY short landing! flight characteristics are great! VERY scale-like and smooth, but still allow for sport flying.

Thanks for that. Do you have pictures how does it look on the plane.

I do. I need to get some videos of it flying and some of my landings, but here are some pics:

Busted out my slats last night. One of the mounting tabs was sheared off... the others were not very strait when glued in. Also it seems like they missed some glue inside as the wood is lifting from the structure. uggg.... may just strip the covering.
