Got up to the top. Ooofffff I am sore fellas. 3k elevation with an 11m baby, my wife and our good friend. Not a maintained trail and lots of mud, roots, and water.

winds were pretty light up at the summit. But a steady enough breeze to slope on the alpine hills. Very neat, had two or three flights that I gained altitude with, had to throw hard and far to find it.

man I love this shot my wife took of our little girl enjoying watching the glider next to me. It was her first mountain peak! She went up great too!!

That’s an amazing view.

We went up on a perfect day. Fall air is crisp and you don’t overheat. I’m out of shape, so I was overheating ha ha! Leaking too!! But hiking was slow with the baby. Shy of 4 hours up and 2.5 down.

I live down here: to the left of the lake. The lake is where my videos are of the float plane adventures. The flying field is bottom right where you cannot see. But if you look at my you tube videos at the little airstrip I take off of, the mountain is in the background above the strip

I went out this morning and test flew my new FMS V2 Twin 70 mm A-10 Thunderbolt Our weather has taken a huge dip in the past two days from 100 Degrees Saturday 80 some yesterday and this morning was 48 Degrees with a high of 50 today. Wow what a change in the weather, but not odd for S.D.

I went flying all three days of the holiday weekend. 62" Osiris electric pattern airplane on Saturday, 120cc Extra on Sunday, and electric pylon racer today. The most flying I've done in quite awhile.
We had some new guys at the field. A local club lost there field and we offered to let them fly with us for the rest of the year for free. It's an old club that flew at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for at least the last 40 years but the COVID panic and University lunacy put an end to it.

Wow. I can’t believe they shut those guys down. That really sucks to hear. I’ve never flown there but I know Uncle Bill use to and I know Ryan has.

Great to hear you got in three days of flying though. That’s awesome.

Evidently the Eastside club was down to about 25 members and with COVID the school didn't want any non school related activity on their property.

I took this thing for a spin yesterday. I haven't flown it since the first time I tried it on 4S and cooked the ESC 3 or 4 years ago. I flew it on 3S yesterday and it's reasonably fast, but as soon as I get the right prop I'm trying it on 4S again.
I scratch built this over 25 years ago for some pylon racing at my old club. The only rule was everyone had to run a stock OS10. I switched to electric in 2014 and on 3S it's quite a bit faster than it was on glow.
I'm hoping that my club will do some kind of pylon racing again. We had trainer races a few years ago. Our field is big enough to do something that fits the AMA club pylon racing rules. You have to limit the airplanes to something that flies right at 100mph, but that's plenty fast to have fun!

Jet painter. i have a suggestion for club racing and it is AMA legal for electric pylon racing. The E-Flite Shoe String, it can be set up with an 15 elect. for slower 90 to 100 mph beginning Pylon racing or the Power 25 which kicks it up to around 120 mph. I tried the 15, but now I am in the process of installing the power 25. Both seem slow to me after flying Q 500's at 150 + and Q 40's at 170 to 190 + mph They are a furn fast electric to have in your hangar when you feel the need, The need for speed. I get a kick out of flying mine no more than 20 ft. off the deck
