Also for the first time I tried to fly a glider. Did not have much luck with it. I am not sure why but this thing is a bear to fly. I let another club member try it and he had the same problems I did. I'm hoping it is because my CG is to far forward but it will have to wait till next year now.
What do you mean by a bear to fly? I've been learning a lot about glider setups lately and as @BalsaDust is saying - they are different. Once the CG is figured out you are constantly trimming/mixing/tuning to get the glider to fly hands off with no adverse effects from stick inputs eg: camber mix, aileron differential, max throws, thermal/cruise camber positions, snap flaps... ect.

It is ridiculously hard to get it in a stable glide. Even when hand tossing it with the motor off I can not hold the nose up and it goes nose down very quickly. I have moved the CG back about 2 cm already from where they say it should be. I have tried to fly it using rudder only to keep it flat in turns but it will still dive out of a turn.
I know a big part of the problem is me. Still learning. I have flown on and off for 40 years, but this is the first glider for me.

Just sounds stupid nose heavy to me. I still remember the H9 15cc Carbon Cub's first flight. I trusted the manual even through my gut was like.... that seems way to aft CG... Well I was right and it flew hyper sensitive and almost lost the plane. A big part of gliding is CG. Ideally every glider starts with a javelin launch to test CG. Then there is a dive test. Dream Flight has a great manual for their gliders that talks about the dive test. Look at page 26:

This is a good article about using rudder in turns:

I bit the glider lure hard. Once you get a ship that flies well (or get yours to) you'll have so much fun!

Yup, I agree about nose heavy. I have been moving it back slowly but think I should just double the 2 cm and go to 4cm.
After trying with this glider I would rather build a balsa glider with a bigger cord. Just need to find a two or three meter kit.
Thanks for the links...

2022 Flight complete! Sure it maybe in the middle of a 6-16” snow forecast followed by 70mph winds within the next 24hrs… but hey!!! It’s complete! I went up, did a tumble, and ditched in the snow in front of me… nasty winds! Lol! Radio time stamp for the record lol

Going to 30F here tonight, too dang cold already. I'm headed to Florida in a couple of weeks to start property shopping. I hate snow. Future retirement home area search starts around a couple of rc fields and will go no more than 30 minutes away.
