Tech-aero IBEC question

I was tuning my plane today and it had a high end slight miss. When it missed the light on the IBEC would slightly blink and seems to have made the miss?
Running a DA 60 with powersafe receiver and pulse lipos.

I have not done any thing yet but seems it would be the IBEC?

You could also try experimenting with the jumpers that control the voltage regulation. Maybe there's too much or not enough..

IBEC has a built in regulator. That could be the issue. But remove the IBEC and try a 6V pack and see if that cures the woes.

I regulated a new 3W IIS twin ignition. Wouldn't run right. Stuck a 4.8V pack on it, and it turned up harder than I ever expected a 106 to turn! I ditched the regulator after that and ran direct 2S lithium ion packs to it.

I run the same setup, probably the connections. I'd recommend you call Ed Alt at Tech Aero and discuss it with him.

I had the same issue. Turned out the hex part of my spark plug was rounded and, as a result, wasn't making good contact with the plug cap, which is necessary to ground the connection. The vibration of the running engine would cause it to loose connection for split seconds at a time, resulting in an intermittent miss. Put in a new plug and all was better. Check your plug cap to see if it is fitting tightly.

I did reach out to Ed and he had me unplug one of the jumpers so I am sending 6.1 volts to the ignition instead of the preset 5 volts.
I also had some foam wrapped around my IBEC and possibly was not cooling enough.
Either way, I will check all connections but plan on flying this weekend .
I am pretty sure its the high voltage that's giving me the trouble.
I run a half dozen other Tech Aero's with 123's with no problems ever.
Well see..

If the light blinks off in unison with the miss you have a battery, IBEC, or a connector on one of them failing.
