Joe Nall 2016 = QUIET!!!

I read the words "will require" in the post linked to me thru FB.

Fellas, it is all pretty simple..... A 2 blade prop and stock mufflers can be kept quiet, and eliminate nearly all prop rip. And you can actually GAIN performance be going to a smaller diameter prop with a bit more pitch.

In other words, I read, money, more money and even more money! If I were to outfit all my aircraft with complying equipment for Nall only, I'm looking at spending approx $3ooo.

I sure as hell won't go to Nall and fly Electric only. I can do that in my side yard.

Guys, I am 95% sure you can fly any plane if you fly it with throttle control and DO NOT RIP. But if you DO rip and they DB your sled they will ask you to land it or leave. They are saying (basically) if you can't control your throttle, look into cans, 3 blades and soft mounts then when your head leaves you and you go WOT they don't have MAD neighbors!

With all due respect Sleepy, your "interpretation" is not what is clearly written....which reads "required" not hey if you can control yourself not required, but just simply required.

Im with @Bunky.F.Knuckle that money cost, if it truly is required, will deter a portion of people from attending and/or flying.

This should be no surprise. That many airplanes flying on multiple flight lines for all hours of the day for a full week ??? I think asking some measure of 'awareness' of your sound level is a very reasonable thing to ask...

I live in the country but close to a small municipal air port. Turbo prop trainers and exec jets all the time. Not annoying.

If it where an air force base and B-52's I would move. Neighborhood complaints is nothing but PMS from both genders but a homeowner or renter deserves tranquility in their domicile. I have to agree with @Bunky.F.Knuckle it is a bottom line thing going on here.

So what about war bird guys that have to have full throttle in order to get there planes in the air?

I get wanting to keep the prop ripping to a minimum, you run into that at virtually every club field in the country mainly because they don't want to piss off the neighbors... But REQUIRING people to have Cans and 3 bladed props is kind of ridiculous. I mean for one, only ONE of my airplanes even has a place to put cans! lol

I hope that this is more of a suggestion meaning, "Hey if you keep ripping and we have to tell you to stop more than once, you're out", but if that is the case they need to change the wording.. REQUIRE means HAVE TO not a suggestion.

If from now on you HAVE TO HAVE cans, 3 bladed props, and soft mounted engines then looks like I won't be going anytime soon.

The post says that they require the planes to be neighbor friendly and that can be accomplished with the use of cans, 3 blades, soft mounts, etc....

My plan is to install a set of cans in one of my planes that I have laying around and fly that if I can't control myself with my normal planes.

Its 750 mile trip one way for me and I would want to be positively sure of the rules
I think a more black and white description of the rules is required
like
All gas planes are required to meet the IMAC noise rules of 98db at 20 feet
three bladed props, canisters or soft mounting engines are suggested ways of meeting this requirement.
