Interesting that the engine box sides doing go back to the wing tube. That ads so much fuse rigidity. This kit is before my time in RC though so I don't know much about old-school stuff.

Yeah this kit was before the wing tube through the motor box, Pirate actually pioneered that concept on their later kits. I'm not shooting for a specific weight just trying to take some of the bacon out of it. Specs are 18 to 19 lbs, 87" wing span and 74" fuse length, the recommended engine was a Supertiger 3000!

I got the horizontal surface ready for cutting, this kit has had some fitment issues here and there. The foam cores were not cut identical making it difficult at best to glue and cut them so i decided to level the playing field with my hot wire.

All pieces cut and leading edges glued. I decided to add balancing tabs even though the original didn't have them.
