Thinking about a Beast.

I have always wanted the 100cc beast and I was just wondering if there were any cons other than assembly time at the field? Any quirks or tricks with these?

They are an amazing flying plane. The big complaints I've seen and heard are the field assembly and the covering. The covering is very prone to wrinkling in the sun. The color scheme also makes it hard to see your orientation in the air. It's a QQ design and an amazing flying plane though.

I've got it's predecessor the QQAC Python and it's a fantastic airplane. I'm not even sure what the issue is with assembly time at the field as I can assemble my Python just as quickly as my flying buddies can assemble their mono planes. They are attaching wings and horizontal stabs and I'm attaching upper and lower wings. The bipe has a few extra screws to attach the struts between the upper and lower wings but it's not like there are any flying wires to deal with or anything. The few extra screws don't take much time at all. To the best of my knowledge, the assembly of the Python and the Beast is pretty much identical..

Those pythons are a beautiful planes. I watched one of those fly at a club I visited and I was impressed. Good color contrast. The beast does look too dark from top to bottom But a couple bright stripes might help.

I saw QQ fly this at Nall a few years ago, yes it flies amazing. Takeoff, freestyle/3D flying and landing, he needed a 25 foot square box area to fly. Wow can he fly.

The beast looks amazing on the ground and always gathers a crowd... In the air if it is hazy or over cast it will silhouette... Other than that, pull the trigger! You will not be sorry! It will fly on anything from an 85-120cc the 120 in my opinion is way more than it needs... I have a 116 in mine and it is balistic! You will love it and it will keep you on your toes! The only airplane that still scares me! Being short coupled it loves to tumble!

Like Matt said.....it is a fun plane to fly. I had a DA120 in mine...obviously PLENTY of power. It has a lightning fast roll rate and snaps are a blur. It does a blender that you'd swear would explode the plane....always gets the attention of the peanut gallery.

The stock colors look great on the ground or in bright sun, but the silhouette issue was real made me pucker more than once. That and the assembly/dis-assembly when my back was acting up finally convinced me to sell it.
