Hey Everyone,

I am trying to figure out why my 330LX is pulling hard to the gear anytime the rudder is deflected more than just minimal deflection. I would rather find out how to alleviate it without adding a mix if that is at all possible. CG is dead neutral. When I pull to a 45 and roll inverted it will hold the line for as long as I leave it in that attitude. Upright flight is flat and level with all surfaces neutral. Inverted flight requires some elevator to maintain level flight and drops pretty quick when I let go of the stick.

3DHS 120" 330LX, DLE170 with RE3's, 2 servos per wing, 1 per stab and 2 on the rudder.

I have attached some pics of the plane. The knife edge pass you can see how little the rudder is being deflected and it takes a considerable amount of elevator to keep it from pulling to the gear. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Other than this issue, I love the way the plane flies!

2 things to look at... 1 where is your vertical CG in the airplane... If the CG is low the airplane will pull to the belly.
The other is not as easy to fix, and that is that the stab could be to high.

Does it only do this with application of left rudder or does it also pull to the belly with right rudder?

Having pipes I would say the CG is pretty low unless your batteries are up high

The same with both left and right rudder.

The stab is pretty much inline with the wings, it is the factory position.

The batteries are above the horizontal center, but I could orient them differently so they would offset the pipes more. Thanks for this, never gave that a thought :)

My Edge does exactly that. It will climb out of a 45 degree inverted upline, but flies level hands off inverted.

Can't really help with your problem Mark. As I myself haven't encountered this type on issue. The worst I've ever dealt with is a "grossly" tail heavy plane. More so than even I am comfortable with. I did want to compliment you on that plane. She's a beauty. Really shows awesome in the air.

I am curious about something though. When you say it tucks hard to the gear with any rudder deflection...is this apparent with certain flight attitudes or all attitudes. Such as straight and level?

It does it no matter what attitude the plane is in, but I notice it more in knife edge flight because there is more rudder input than just normal course corrections. If I do a little stronger course or wind correction with the rudder I am also having to add up elevator to keep the line level.

I did want to compliment you on that plane. She's a beauty. Really shows awesome in the air.

Thank you! I do like the plane a lot. Just want to figure out if I need to change something physically before playing with mixes.
