Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% Piper Cherokee Glass Fuselage Build.

The stabilator linkage is complete, rather than a heavy duty rod end, I used a fitting from a DuBro heavy duty adjustable control horn. Here's a short video.

Have the stabilator coped out and laid 2 layer of carbon fiber on the foam. Ready to cut the anti servo tab loose. Also finally finish the bottom door hinge. Started laying out the stabilator control linkage as well. The servo will be mounted on the front side of the rear former. A Rocket...

The stabilator bearing is near completion. There is very little clearance but the tube turns freely, vacuum bagging the socket is the way to make great fittings sockets. The stabilator rattled around a little on my two previous Cherokees, this one will not.

The linkage is Rocket City strip aileron linkage. The clevis just snaps onto knuckle, it is stiff, need to use a screwdriver to bend it open to get it on, it's not coming without a screwdriver. They made great linkages fittings, fire in their factory closed them down in the early 2000's. I...

Laid out a perpendicular bisector on top of the bench with a large compass, the plane was aligned to the line and vertically plumbed. The tube supports plates were drilled together so that they are same height. A short piece of socket was laid up with carbon powder added to reduce friction...

Clear packing tape installed on the top half of the tail cone. The joint was painted with PVA after the tape was placed. Decided to go with 3 layers of 4 ounce cloth for the flange. The flange will get trimmed to 3/8" once cured. The rudder is back on with new hinges and the bearing block...

Had to break out the vacuum pump as I have no means to control the vacuum on the new pump. Looks like a winner so far, of course so did the prototype! The skin is covered with parchment paper as the Gorilla bleeds through where there are pin holes. The skin is 1 1/2 ounce glass and 5.7 carbon...

I would image since it is a motor box it is square, you are missing the floor, the top should be the same width? I would also image it tabs into the sides so the minimum length would be to last tab hole, make it longer if you like, cut it out later if necessary.

    Help! Mystery plane

My experience is that the needle valve is the first thing to go so plan to place it as well, It is part of the kit. The carb for the photo above is a Walbro WA 58 and takes a K10-WAT kit. You can find a kit most anywhere.

After further review, I plan to cut the airfoil out of 1 pound expanded bead with a 1/2" 2 pound trailing edge. The weight was not sufficient to make the skins flat and the ribs are telegraphing through. This way I attach the skins under vacuum. Oh well, make another socket and set of skins...
