    I cut a few pieces of bias tape for the rudder leading transition to the fuselage. It took a couple of tries before ) got a successful piece. As you have learned cutting a straight line is a PITA.

    I use a roll of 3/4" per wing, might take three rolls to complete the airframe Two inch tape on the leading edge and around the bow to the aileron. I use the 1" tape on the rudder and stab leading and trailing edges.

    Well after 5 hours of sanding and 3 hours spraying, the wings are 7AC yellow. Finally getting the hang of this paint. I will let the wings cure for a day or two before masking for the N numbers. Might shoot the Cherokee plug tomorrow with white acrylic enamel paint. Then more on to painting...

    I thought you had already bought tape some time ago? This was about the time you mentioned the 3mm pinking shears on Amazon. I bought a spar pair already, I think my first has another plane in them before they are worn out.

    Sun came out this afternoon, put the white EkoPrime on. Sand tomorrow, maybe color? The EkoPrime sands much better than the EkoSpray.

    The 2" wide tape would be used on the wing leading edge for 1/3 scale. Here are a few files from the Super Cub, 2" tape is used on full scale so 3/4" tape would be the approximate correct 1/3 size. I don't think you can go wrong using 3/4" for most of the plane. I paint on PolyBrush before...

    Weather got me stuck painting so I decided to throw some mud at the cowl. 1/8" balsa sheet was epoxied and glassed on the back edge of the cowl to act as a dam and guide. This was sanded to the correct contour with a long sanding bar. The mud is quite thick and will take several applications...

    Getting a nice trim is always a pain with fabric. Make sure the cut line has Poly Tac or Poly Brush on it to keep it from fraying. Holding a straight edge razor blade on an angle and pulling the fabric into it does the best job. Seen this switch on YT this morning, 6 year old video but the...

    Be careful with the heat, start at 220 and 250 will probably give you sufficient shrink. I had to recover the stab on the Super Cub first time around because the covering deformed the stab.

    Yes you can, if I recall Chip from F&M keep the brush in MEK then dipped into the Poly Tak and it would thin it to the right consistency.

    Turned the wings and ailerons gray with EkoSpray. I went over the wings at least twice with an iron but the EkoSpray really highlights all the loose tape and spots that need ironed. Thankfully the the EkoSpray can be heat smoothed.

    Seems like my next 3 builds require 5" wheels. I have 3 from the crashed Cherokee so I'm down to needing at least 5, three for the TriPacer and two for the Chipmunk. I have been buying up the Sullivan S883 wheels that I've found on line and still short one. While searching I found 5" wheels...
