    News Kelly aka 49dimes

Thanks to ALL with your prayers and wishes. So there is no confusion...I have a host of issues but the main ones that are "chronic" in nature, and are the ones that will probably have the greatest affect on life span, are Stage 4 kidney failure and stage 3 congestive heart failure. I have always...

@Snoopy1 @pawnshopmike and all of my GSN buddies.... Been fighting health issues and unable to participate. Know all that I miss all of you and tinkering in the shop with you all. I will try and peek in time to time but for now I will abstain until a future time. Take care everyone and know...

Like @dhal22 said....Have not done a thing in the shop for a bit except complain to myself why I have not been in the shop o_O. Maybe because I have repaired 4 weed trimmers, 2 chain saws, 2 lawn mowers, 1 garden tractor and a large back pack blower... Whew...and a 1992 Ford F150! No wonder I...

I don't think "Easy come...Easy go" quite describes what has happened here. Maybe the "Easy go" part. Darn shame :ugh:.

Just a hunch but it seems the timing is way off. Pull the prop hub shaft adaptor nut and see if the hub has moved on the crank shaft. A bent or sheared key could be the issue.

I noticed a servo cut out in the rear cabin former. Is that for a tow release ? and if so is any hardware included ?

@AKNick …. Now that you have yours. I was wondering why are there four or six screws going into each side of the fuse in the cabin area ? o_O

    Cool Hangin’ in the Hangar

Looks to be a "MT-Propeller". Was not "Flitzplugh" the original props for the Extra's ?

But I do have a Timber hanging around some where . Let me stew over this for bit. I'm sure @pawnshopmike can hook me up with it and some servos and a receiver.

The engine only weight is 1580 grams or 3.48 pounds. Add a pitts muffler and ignition and it's slightly more than 4.25 pounds. The V1 I had in the Alien Extra was swinging a 24x9 CF Falcon prop about 6500 static. And it did not seem any more powerful than my hot rod DL50 when the Alien had it...

Nice Work!:attaboy: How did the rest of the "Chunk'O'Foam" fare? I find that some foam planes are too stiff and rigid and the foam breaks easily. I guess it's EPP and not EPO?

Yesterday and today we got a bit of relief so I climbed on to the trusty Scag and got'er done! Even so all the grass clippings dried out almost immediately because of the intense UV still blazing down :yesss:. Have not flown at all since May :(. Your Yak is really giving it to ya isn't it ...

Hmn….I got a new V2 DJ72 that's been sitting on the shelf for over a year now. Was looking hard at the X Cub but I'm cub'd out. Bazinga! Enter the "Timber 110":mario-banana:. Looking at a Pilot Decathlon as well. :ugh!: Decisions....Decisions.... Maybe best I just leave the engine on the...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

The weather has been baking the whole country much less the deep south and flying has been stifled. With that said not much going on in my shop. So I decided to dig out some really old (late 80's early 90's) audio equipment and see if I could get it pumping out some jams again in my shop. The 30...
