The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

The canopy is very finicky with how it latches. They tried to copy PAU’s quick release but didn’t do a very good job of it. It is very squirmy compared to other 60” planes but does okay with an aura on it. My original plan with it was to fly it ridiculously hard until I demolished it and then...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

It’s been a while since being on GSN… but January has been a month in the hobby room… I built a 58” Redwing Extra, a 60” EF Extra NG for a buddy (with less than a 24 hour turn around - thanks COVID quarantine…) and have been working a 1/4 BUSA Cub. My buddy and I have maidened the 60” planes and...

    SOLD! DA-120 Stock Mufflers

I flew with these for 2 years and then had a crash where one was damaged. I swapped out the mufflers for JTECs on the engine and had the one side repaired. I no longer need them. You can see the repair in the pictures. Asking $90 shipped.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I've been waiting for some cooler weather as to not trick the garage circuit breaker from using both a covering iron and the portable AC at the same time. So back to work on the Ultimate Biplane!

I’m going out flying thread 2019

We did this with the original Eflite T-28 Trojan. It took over 75 paintballs and was still flying. The only crashes we had were due to paintballs hitting the linkages and no longer had control of the airplane. It was a hoot and used some techniques from real world fighter flying to make a lot...

I’m going out flying thread 2019

It was another beautiful day in northern Texas(60 degrees, sunny, and no wind)! Our local quad club did a race. We did 14 rounds of racing. I am sure rusty with them. But it was a heck of a lot of fun!

I’m going out flying thread 2019

I got 7 good flights in today with my models. I also helped another with a maiden flight on a 60 size Ugly Stick variant. It was a fun afternoon with 50 degrees and no wind to speak of!

I’m going out flying thread 2019

Maiden complete! I need to readjust the thrust vectoring as it pitches up pretty drastically when I pull the power. That problem caused a drop in on my last flight causing the tire failure... But this plane is going to be lots of fun with the vectoring and with it being a little warmer... 3...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

You get it at Motion RC. It is the Freewing twin 70mm Su-35. It runs on a 6s 3300-5000 mah battery. 8 channels required for full thrust vectoring capability. It is $359 Pnp with free shipping. I will hopefully have the gone flying post later today with pics from the maiden.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

The Freewing twin 70mm Su-35 is super easy to build. I didn’t think that as it was coming out of the box. But as I started assembly, it all went super quickly with all the included hardware and 5 min epoxy. I have it ready to fly for tomorrow!
