I've also read a couple posts where the stock OS33 muffler is restrictive. One guy mentioned adding a JTec pitts gained 600 rpm. I also have an OS33GT that I'm happy with for the setup but might try a jtec. Just a thought before you get a new motor.

That's funny, I felt the same way. I'm not too picky, I'll most likely just bolt it on and fly the heck out of it and assuming it holds together and is not absurdly loud, I'll just leave it alone.

I completely agree, I'm finishing up my AJ/DLE build this week, and I'm about 45% done with my EF/DA build, so I will probably order the standard pitts this week.

I received a fast reply from JTec and was told that the only difference between the standard and large wrap around pitts is .5" in size and a couple dB quieter and no performance difference. For close to a 50% price increase of the larger one, I think I am going to go with the standard. If I...

I just got an email back from JTec and they said that the larger putts wrap around is just a couple dB quieter than their basic version. No performance difference though. Could be good if you are right on the bubble for noise restriction.

I know the feeling. Been flying mostly electric over the past few years and just recently started flying gas. I usually bring both to the field, but naturally I get more stick time with the gasser. I too would drive to the field without restrictions.

For what it's worth I just weighed both my DA35 and DLE 35RA. Just the motor and cm6 plug. DA was 2lbs 1.8oz. DLE was 2lbs 1.4oz. I think that when I add the pitts muffler to the DA and mount the stock DLE muffler, the difference in weight will increase slightly more. No big deal for me, and...

That is tough, in that case if it were me I may consider more electric setups. Fortunately I am lucky enough to have both and use both at the same field.

I would have done the same exact thing.

Seems like some good rpms with that prop. I'm getting 6900 with the Vess 20A on my OSGT33 and it flies nice and the stock muffler really has a nice sound to it. I'm thinking of tracking down a Pitts muffler to try though as I've heard the stock OS muffler is a bit restrictive.

Sounds to me like you just might be flying too much! Only fix I can think of is more airframes to help spread the abuse!

Ha, deal.....but, I don't even have a VVRC yet! I keep going back and forth in my head about a 50cc which I've had in the past. I'm afraid if I get one my 3-35cc's will be left out and not used as much, so I think I will just stick with the more economical 35cc size birds for now.
