IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

Awesome build Cam, I wish I had that kind of skill and patience. I don't even like working on my planes anymore, I just want them to work so I can fly when I get the time.

Mark Boguszewski: A GSN APPROVED Master Builder!

Having seen a couple of Dennis Brown's planes up close, they are amazing. Truly a Master Builder.

IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

When you're done I will come over and show you how to properly fly that thing. Good luck on the build, I think I can hear Craig's knees knocking from here.

    Rant......Pre assembled fuel tanks.

Ounces are ounces. You care about enough ounces you get a pound or two. Of course I shelled out the bucks for a magnesium da200, so my perspective may be a little warped....That cost me $650 bucks for 8 ounces over the lightened 200. So for me saving 5 ounces for the price of PSP cap is a no...

    Rant......Pre assembled fuel tanks.

As ericb said, you just have to have enough length on the fill line so you can hold it above the level in the tank. The same applies with a regular fill line. I learned the hard way on my first 50cc gas plane I thought it would be cool to hide fuel dot on the bottom of the plane, what a pain...

    Rant......Pre assembled fuel tanks.

I have used Viton in the tank for the past 7 years on 40% planes and not once used a straw to keep it at the back of the tank, I use a fairly heavy clunk and it is fine with me if flops forward on a downline, that is where the gas is. I have yet to have one get hung up at the front of the...

    Rant......Pre assembled fuel tanks.

I recently switched to a 64oz Juice bottle with PSP cap and fittings. I have always run a 3 line tank to avoid a T on the fill line. Seen more than a few air leaks ground planes in the middle of a contest. However I decided to do it differently this time. Instead of a 3 line tank I used an...

Awesome new receiver 90 degree antenna holder

A friend of mine created a new 90 degree antenna holder for JR and Futaba radios. These receivers require the two antennas to be mounted 90 degrees with respect to each other to insure spherical coverage. This antenna holder does that weighs almost nothing and can be mounted in nearly any...

IMAC JTEC/ Radiowave 3.1m competition series

I meant the mounting brackets at the root. We are always looking at better ways to mount the titanium wire. We make something similar to the rudder tiller, just not quite as fancy as yours.

    3D Viper-ST 100-120cc scratch build......it continues!

It has been a few days since I looked at this thread, as fast as you work a lot happens. You could give a clinic on tailwheel setup and installation. I appreciate describing how easy it is to make your own metal straps, as you stated we now supply metal ones, but depending on the installation...

Tail Wheel Steering, Springs vs Fuel Tubing or other setups

I actually like the theory of the direct drive but have never had one hold up in the long run on a 3D plane, but I've never tried one of yours.      Actually just ordered a couple more J&J's and one is for my 108" 3DHS that is set up for the direct drive.....never even gave it a thought. Cool...

Tail Wheel Steering, Springs vs Fuel Tubing or other setups

The most full proof method with the least amount of slop and positive steering is a direct drive setup.

long long downlines!! what about fuel clunks in the tank???

I have been using this plastic/ceramic type clunk for years and it is heavy enough to fall forward and back using viton.  It also holds gas like felt.  I remember years back people complaining of felt clunks deteriorating over time and the felt particles clogging the carburetor screens. This...

    Gas can all done..

I have posted this several times over at the other site, I put this together back in 2005 for my local club so I know the prices and components may have changed, but the wiring is still good. As noted many people have added a fuse for extra protection. I have changed my battery to a...
