    Speed Freak Outlaw

Yes, the Outlaw (glow) version has been around a long time. The original plans by Jerry were sold to EF. Looks like they discontinued the glow model and converted the plans for e-power :) I converted one a few years ago and it was just as quick as when I originally built it with a glow...

    3DHobbyShop 51" AJ Slick

I couldn't resist any longer. I picked up a 51" AJ Slick in 3DHS's Laborday sale that started today, ordered it at midnight and it shipped out today, can't beat that for customer service...thanks Noll! It will be fun to compare to my V1 68" Velox, and 47" Super Vyper. I always liked the...

Discussion Props for Hacker A50-12L on 6s

Thanks Gyro for the response, I'll have to go back and watch the 3dhs podcasts. I asked the question on the Addicts forum as well and it looks like 19 or 20x10 is the prop everyone likes, so I'll buy both and try them out. I was going to go 8s to lower the amp draw, but everything I've read...

    Need help with an ESC

Yep, I asked, he didn't have any idea. I did end up contacting the owner of Scott who owned Reaper Motors, and he said he sold the ESC and all IP to another company who is now out of business. Scott doesn't have instructions so I guess I'm SOL. I'll probably end up pulling the ESC and...

Discussion Props for Hacker A50-12L on 6s

Ok e-power guru's, I have a 72" , 9.2lb airframe (MSX) that I need to prop. I'm using a Hacker A50-12L V1 that I had on the shelf along with a Castle Ice 100, and A123 for the Rx/servos. I'm going to use my 6s-5000mAh GensAce 30c Lipos that I use on my Velox. I was going to order some 19x8's...

3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

Here's my 2 cents. It looks like the plate survived ok, just pulled the blind nuts through the plate. I would either replace the gear plate wood and install new blind nuts, or if you are looking for a quicker fix, epoxy a 3/16" ply piece inside the fuse on top of the gear plate, install blind...

    Need help with an ESC

No luck so far on finding the instructions for the Reaper 85A ESC. ZTW beeps don't match, and Ken at Motrolfly said they didn't make it, so I'm SOL at the moment. If anyone hears of anything please let me know. Thanks, DG

    Need help with an ESC

Thanks SnowDog, I'm going to buy some new props today, I need some 15" as well as 14". Is it just me, or do you guys end up with a huge box of extra props and never seem to have what you need? If the weather improves, I may go ahead and maiden it later this week with the glow prop if the...

    Need help with an ESC

Update: I checked my lipos and one was at storage charge, and the other full charge. Swede, you were right, evidently, I picked up the wrong battery last night (the one at 3.7v/cell) b...duh! Anyway, I hooked up the other fully charged battery tonight along with the power meter. I was...

    Need help with an ESC

Nope, duh..... I guess I should have checked that last night. Let me get the power meter out tonight and report back. FYI, I'm converting a glow Sabre 47 profile using a proven setup: Value Hobby G32, recommended prop is 14x7-15x6 and a 80-100A ESC on 4s GensAce power. I'm running a 14x6 Xoar...

    Need help with an ESC

I picked up a used Reaper 85A ESC w/ sbec built-in and just got around to installing it in an airframe. It works as is, but when I throttle up to full power, all of the sudden it slows down like the battery is going dead (battery is charged), any ideas? Does anyone know where I can find...

3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

Amen brother! It would really be nice if they did that. There must be a good reason, otherwise I'm sure they would like to maximize their stock/warehouse space by only having two 71" Slicks vs. four. I guess I'm spoiled with the Velox's flexibility. I didn't realize the 74 Edge and 72 Extra...

The two piece hanger (makes the width adjustable) from Lowes is for my larger 70", and the one piece from Home Depot are for anything smaller.

3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

Anyone hear of an ETA on 71" AJ Slick (gassers)? Wondering if they will have some in by the Toledo show? Seems like 3dhs is out of a lot of stock right now. Also, how different is the build on the electric versions? They say in their description they are both the same from the wings back.

Question? iCharger 306b vs. 3010b question

If using the 3 power supply option with that monster charger, you would probably need 20-30A outlet to plug into to feed the PS's. Guessing it would blow a typical 15A circuit breaker.

Thanks guys for the info. Looks like the 306b would work for my use.

Question? iCharger 306b vs. 3010b question

What is the benefit of the iCharger 3010b over the 306b? They both have the same output and the only thing I can see is that the 3010b is for upto 10 cell lipos (do 8, 10, or 12 cell lipos exist?). For parallel charging (2)- 6s-5000mAh lipos at a 2c or 3c charge rate would the 30A output be...

Yippee! Charging The Lithium Polymer Beast

DTH7, if you go with the 24v PS and a decent charger you can charge two 4 cell or 6cell batteries in parallel and end up with 8 cell or up to 12 cell setups by hooking the batteries up in series. Even thought there is some high cell (7 cell and up) Lipos being made, most folks use two in series...
