    DLE-30 Dies When Inverted

I was using a blue metal arm and a ball link on the servo end and a DuBro HD 4-40 snap link on the carb. I intend on using ball links on both ends when I install the new servo.

    DLE-30 Dies When Inverted

Well, I'm not sure but I believe the problem has been solved. It idled great and top end was fine (7300 rpm with a 19x8 Zoar) but the mid range was acting goofy. At about 30% throttle it would surge and run inconsistently no matter what needle settings I tried - both on the ground and in the...

    Those guys season opener 2016!!!

Does anyone have details on the electric delta wings they were flying in the video? I need something that fast to terrorize my fellow flyers.

    DLE-30 Dies When Inverted

I believe you may be right....I spent a considerable amount of time at the field last week with the DLE 30 trying to get it to fly inverted without cutting out or acting up - no luck. I bought the motor used so have no idea how old it is, I've owned it for 2 years and only recently have had...

    DLE-30 Dies When Inverted

I'm having trouble with my DLE 30 and 35 but believe the issue is with the way I have them tuned. Both run great, fine idle good mid-range with just a bit of burble. I can run them inverted IF I keep the throttle at 3/4 or higher. I run into problems when I try lower throttle settings on BOTH...

Nick, Great idea on the heat shrink labels - fist time I've seen that trick.

+1 I like your idea of keeping the motor in a bag while cutting the cowl, very smart. I too had separate cutouts for the exhaust tubes when I initially build mine. My motor was overheating (Florida in the summer, go figure!) so I ended up creating one large opening to improve cooling.

30 cc plane: Tomcat G160 motor - anyone have one?

I've got about 8 flights on the motor and I like it a lot. I went with a 10s set up with a 20x10 APC prop. Pulls 70A @ 2300 + watts for 7 mns of flight time. I have 3300 60c and 5000 mAh batteries - 4000 would be the sweet spot. My only gripe is the throttle response, its super slow - so slow...

30 cc plane: Tomcat G160 motor - anyone have one?

Thanks for the reply, I've decided to take a chance on this motor - for $80.00 how bad can it be?!! It looks like the line is carried by more than a few vendors, Redwing and Grayson Hobby for two so the motor must be somewhat decent....

30 cc plane: Tomcat G160 motor - anyone have one?

I'm looking for a cheap motor for an old 30 cc airframe (the one in my current avatar) and came across this motor: http://www.redwingrc.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_67&products_id=552 Does anyone have any experience with this motor or have ideas for a cheap alternatives? I...

SupaTim builds a 73" AJ Laser!!

    3DHS Extra 330 or Redwing Extra 330

I too have the 73" AJ Laser and couldn't be happier with it. It's so good that I'm no longer happy with my Goldwing Yak 55! I just bought the 3DHS Extra 330lt, if it Harriers as well as my Laser I will be a happy man indeed. Thanks for the reply.

    3DHS Extra 330 or Redwing Extra 330

Hey guys I'm in the market for a new airframe. I have the motor (DLE 30cc) and all servos etc. The plane is going to complement my daily flyer, a 73" AJ Laser and will be replacing a Yak 55 that's seen better days. My top choice is between the 3DHS and Redwing airframes. My question is - the...

AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

Thank you for the information. I searched another site and found others who had the same problem. I tried installing the canopy screws that came with my kit but they did not fit the supplied 3mm blind nuts. I found a set in my spare parts drawer that did work though, they are from Redwing RC...

AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

I finally got to maiden my Laser 230z today, and all I can say is WOW. Its the best handling 3D airplane I've ever flown. The only plane that comes close is the Aeroworks Freestyle 260 QB, and the AJ laser has much more power with the same exact motor IMO (DLE 35ra) No coupling in knife edge...

Rudder Nick, The V2 rudder is pretty simple, it's got old school heavy duty plastic hinges with a single removable pin. I had the same question regarding the rudder and here is what AJ said when I emailed them on the subject: "~Subject: Rudder hinge pin Hi Trent, We usually place a small...

AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

Pushrods revisited This build has been pretty easy thanks to AKNick's thread and the Mfg. supplied PDF. My only frustration with the "kit" so far is the supplied ball links - why not just use standard sized 4-40??! :cursing: At any rate, I tried Nick's method of heating the pushrods up and...
