Help! Extreme Flight Extra 300 advice needed!!

Discussion in 'Giant / Scale RC General Discussions' started by acerc, Dec 5, 2016.

  1. I have a DLE 85cc needing an airframe and have been looking for an Extra that it would fit in nicely. Extreme Flight has a 91"ws and a 104"ws, would the 85 be to much for the 91"ws and/or to little for the 104"ws. I am not a 3D pilot, more of a pattern style if that helps.
  2. There have been people put 85s on the 91". But most everyone is putting some type of a 70 twin or 60 and pipe on them.

I say, if you have the engine, why not. You can always throttle back, can never throttle up past wide open.
  3. EF shows up to a DA 70, maybe the DLE 85 would be close to it. And you are right, much easier to not need it and have it than the other way around.
  4. A 96" plus or minus airframe would be ideal. :)
  5. I had the DLE in an Aeroworks Yak and it was perfect, unfortunately they are no longer available.

I've flown the 107" Pilot Extra 330SC with a piped DA85 and a Falcon 27 X 10 and it had very good power. More than enough for pattern style flying. I'm afraid I don't know enough about the performance of the DLE 85 to say if it could do as well.

The Hangar 9 33% Sukhoi was a good airplane as well, but it's gone now too,
  7. I am sure the DLE could handle the 104" but I think I will go with the 91", suits my needs better. Come to think of it, the 104" would not even fit in my truck.

  8. The 91" has been ordered. Thanks to everyone for your opinion of these aircraft.

  9. Ok, I am new to this 3D thing, well, was not actually looking to get into 3D. But I just watched one of EF's videos of a fella named Jase Dussia. Holy crap!!! I have got to give it a try. I see guys at the field thrashing about like a fish out of water, nothing like this Jase fella. He seems to be so controlled, precise, very pleasant to watch. This I would like to learn!!!
