    Hey guys,

Just wanted to give you a heads up that I've got a new project underway. You can find it at

    www.ChampCitabriaDecathlonForums.com

It's a free-to-the-public forums site dedicated to the Champ, Citabria, and Decathlon family of airplanes and I've got an RC sub forum for enthusiasts to post RC stuff related to these aircraft.

A little background, when I sold MultiRotorForums and GSN to Paul, I paid off any debt the sites had and paid off my office lease. I used the little bit I had left :face-palm: as a down payment on a 1968 Citabria 7ECA. That is the 115 hp version, no flaps, pretty basic but very fun to fly.

Having been a part of that community for about a year and a half now it's been frustrating that the only place to go for info is either Facebook or a pay-to-enter club site that is just about dead on most days.

So here we are. If you love these airplanes then please feel free to give us a look, we'll see you there and I'll keep updating my Citabria build thread right here!

    :dancing-chicken:

    Thanks.
    Bart

Thats' great Bart! Dad taught me how to fly in this L-16....military version of the champ. Had a whopping 65hp on tap:confused: L-16 cropped.jpg

    Earle,
Not only is it awesome that your dad taught you to fly but he did it in a very cool version of a very cool plane!

  5. I’ve been getting the itch to take some flying lessons but my wife isn’t hip to the idea. We live maybe a mile from our local airport so it would be easy for me to do. Maybe after our youngest is grown...

that's when a lot of people get started with lessons. if when you get started, try to get your wife involved so she can see what is involved. by learning a little about it she might become more comfortable with the idea.

I took a few lessons back when a solo license cost about $1,000. Probably a bit more expensive than that now.

    49dimes Damn I'm hungry

The "itch" finally grew some legs and crawled off my back several years ago. But I do have a couple of "joy" rides in a Super Decathlon and logged 20 hours in a Turbo Mentor when I was active duty. Now I just log most hours in the shop staring at my dog lol. Well......working on a Cub too.
