One of the country's largest hobby trade shows, and the biggest on the East Coast, is the annual R/C show held by the Westchester Radio Aero Modelers, at a new venue since 2012, the
Meadowlands Exposition Center at Harmon Meadow, Secaucus, NJ.

IMG_3602.jpgIn addition to exhibits by some 150 or more manufacturers and organizations, the show is a magnet for modelers who compete for prizes in a static competition that is staggering for its size and the beauty of the models on display.

Stay tuned!!!

I went to WRAM today. Let's start with Hitec RCD as they had some cool things to show and see. They are going to eventually replace all of their 5 and 7 series servos with 32 bit boards so resolution will go way up, mostly above the current generation of radios. The new Aurora 9X supports 4096, but I am not sure many other radios do. Here are their displays of the newest servos, the new brushless and the High resolution 8 series.

They have a new voltage alarm that you hook up to your balance port for quick and inexpensive aural telemetry for low voltage. Up to 4S lipo.

It is hard to miss Horizon Hobby as they are right there when you walk in. Here are some shots of the new wares from them. The new EFI engine, Inverza, Yak 54, Sbach 60, Carbon Cub, and the little 200 QX.

Next door is Hobbico and they had their new U-Can-Do up on diplay. Looks like a good fit for my Evolution 15cc or the new GT15.

Next stop was 3D Hobbyshop, where the whole team was there including Ben, Noll, Joe and Jim Smith, djmoose, Steve McCormack, xsubsailor, zmonster97, and a few others whom will kill me for not remembering their names.

The big news is their new 108" Extra 330LT. Aaron is bring the prototype tomorrow to be formally unveiled, but they had a little flyer about it. I talked to both Joe and Ben about it. It is a little less floaty than the 103, and has more precision and "crispness" to the way it flies. Joe said his electric came out of a tad over 29 pounds and the gasser a little over 27. The fuse is much bigger than the 103 and has more wing taper. More info I am sure will come. Fall time frame for release.

I noticed how well the DA-70 fit into the new Yak 55. Look ma, no holes in the cowling.
