Thanks Cody. Just checked it and its 6.09v on the foamy. I will double check the CC BEC on the Slick.

With the exception of the HS-5245MG, I have been flying in near freezing conditions... would this have any negative effect due to moisture from condensation?

Even though this is the 8FG spot, Wanted to check in hereto see if anything else ever happened with your plane and the possible HV/servo/receiver issue econpatric. We have a new plane that checked out great for setup and went to maiden running a 6208, a 2S straight through the receiver to some 7945 servos with no more than one servo on each channel... fried a brand new rudder servo during maiden. Sent it in to Hi Tec. Got it back with a description for the repair that said "damaged amplifier." The part almost melted it's way through the bottom of the case. Did you cook any more servos after those three?
Just coincidence?

Every Hitec 65hb servo (X4) has been replaced due to burnt amplifier in that plane, even after corrections were made within the radio. I believe that the damage to the amps was caused by end points being set too high as mentioned in an earlier post in this thread. After selling the plane to my Dad, the last one burnt up while under control of the DX8 - The damage is apparently irreversible haha! :scaredchair: .

After the issue with that one 5245 and the hb's, I have not had any problems with any of my other Hitec's. I have 7965sh's and some 5665's in my larger birds, 5245 in my 60" birds, 65mg's in my 48". The only thing I've changes is the end point settings. Following the advice found here, I always extend the end point until I no longer hear the servo moving and then pull it back a few 'clicks'. For my Hitec's the end point seems to be 130 on the aforementioned servos.

Hope this helps....

Just got a 8FG so i'll be asking a ton of questions

This thing is weird to program but i'm getting the hang of it. I think i'll be holding on to A9 for a backup since i've never had any problems with it. I never really wanted one but i'm setting up a 100cc plane and it will be nice to have more channels...that and i got it used from Azhar so it has LOTS of bling :)

Here is a nice supplementary manual that breaks it down nicely. Great radio
