Sport Where to get foam for foam core wings????

I have come up empty with a local place to get white foam over 2" thick. I have a few scratch build projects that have foam wings and some other foam parts. Anyone have a supplier for foam??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When we were cutting Q500 wings, years ago, we went to a place in Dayton, OH called Alloyd Insulation. I think it was all 2# density white beaded foam.

+1, Flying Foam.com. Coby is the owner of the company and I have been working with him for many years now. He will sell you blank foam blocks of what ever density you need, or he will cut your cores with his CNC hot wire for a reasonable price.
He has done my Bf 109E cores and cores for the Ascender, both were excellent.

That 109 looks awesome. care to share a few details about it? size, power, weight, kit built, plans built, your own plans, etc.

Thank you for the compliments, the 109E-4 is my own design 1/4 scale scratch built model. Power is from the good old G62. I made my own molds for the glass fuse and I have sold a couple of "short kits" to modelers. All the paint is Klass Kote, all the markings are either stencil or done by hand. It tips the scales at 35lbs.

Here is a clip of it flying at a Warbird event up in Pennsylvania a few yeas ago. Even at 35lbs it still has a kinda high wing loading so you can't let it get to slow. This was the first flight at this field that day and I was a bit nervous with all the trees, I am really spoiled with my home field.

What are you scratch building? So few modelers design and build their own stuff these days.

I charge $875.oo for the short kit which consists of all the glass & carbon spinner parts that are on the blanket in the photo above. Then you have to order your wing and tail cores from Coby for another $200.00 The spinner backplate is $225.00, that is what I get charged by my local machine shop when he makes it. I just pass along that cost to the modeler, and that is part of the $875 cost.

That's spensive but really is prolly cheap for the amount of work you have in making the molds.

I mainly build 3D profiles but I have plans printed to build a SE5 sometime. Designing is loads of fun especially once you see something you drew on paper take flight. Here is one of mine. Kinda something a buddy designed the original 40 size version and I have scaled it down to a yard bird version and up to this 55cc version. This has a sheeted foam fuse but built up wings and surfaces.
